i have been saving for a condo in toronto for the past 3 years. i am a single person who is a social worker making around $45,000 a year and the housing situation in toronto is bad and now we get this story.

i bet any money that these real estate people will then sell it for $100,000 more.

yeah ... it's tough especially if you want to live close to your work ... i rent and live in the downtown area and have no qualms about not owning ...

an option would be to consider finding some partners to buy a house together ... obviously, there are a lot of pitfalls associated with this but it is an option as it's only gonna get harder and harder to get in ...

this happens in Vancouver as well...and for daycare spots...I can see lining up for a week to get great concert tix (like in the olden days), but for a place to live? Preposterous!
