He needs to but based on the last two debates he probably won't. Obama won them according to the polls.

Obama is just such a naturally more powerful and gifted speaker and communicator that I have a hard time seeing McCain pulling off anything more than a tie... And the first two debates were: foreign policy and town hall... McCain's sweet spots, and he lost both of them. I don't see much chance for McCain to win on domestic issues in a normal debate style.

The thing about Obama (and this is coming from someone who does not think that he is that good of a debater) is that he rarely, if ever loses his cool or composure. So many of those game-changing moments come not only from the skill of the candidate who lands that great point, but it also comes from the opponents' inability to respond to it adequately, and Obama does not really have that problem. He is usually able to fight points he loses on to a draw, so it makes it hard for his opponent to draw any blood. Obama doesn't outright lose at these things; he "ties" far more often than he wins, but he doesn't lose. And that makes it difficult for McCain to build momentum when he needs it.

I knew some one would read into it too much. I guess we all have to be uber PC now that Obama might be Il Presidante

I was trying to lighten the mood...I thought it was comical after some of his comments that he would say that.

how people aren't made up in this already is beyond me.......the final debate will not swing very many voters.
  • Well unless he suddenly stops being an arrogant prick I doubt he'll get many points. I mean ok Obama is the adversary but at least LOOK at the man when he speaks to you...Obama shows McCain that courtesy I don't understand why McCain can't be professional and do the same in return. He needs to control his temper and stick to the issues...none of this fear mongering he's been using Palin to do as of late.
Should be interesting though. I'll be watching.

McCain will be coming out swinging tonight. He said he's going to whip some ass, IF he doesn't this election is over.

I want to see him fighting mad tonight just to see if it will rattle Obama.

    Hmm..
I wonder if McCain will wander around aimlessly again tonight :)

That Senile old bastard should be at home watching Wheel of Fortune. Old folks need their rest and 9:00pm is obviously too late in the evening for him to be in a debate.

They should move the election to the crack of dawn. That's when old people are sharp.

Nah I think he's going to stare him down tonight and go after Obama like he's never had before.

    Same here. I totally agree.

There's alot on the line for McCain tonight. This one may get ugly because McCain's in a desperate situation; he's against the ropes and he's gotta come out swinging.

    It's like Ali vs. Frazier.

Obama can't sit back and pussyfoot around either. He's got to go in for the knockout.

What thh hell is mccain going to do? Start yelling and bashing his head on the table like the ultimate warrior?

I am expecting something similar to what we have seen. Slight win by Obama, tie, or slight edge to McCain. Either way, both sides will try to spin it in their favor and people will just read what they want to hear tomorrow. Little benefit for McCain. What new material is he possibly going to bring to the table that will wow voters and take Obama completely off guard?

Oh how cool that would be!
  • I can't possibly imagine anything interesting tonight. Like every other debate it's going to be "Well, that's a good question and I'm glad you asked. Begin: stump speech...."

Then one guy is going to lie about something the average moron American is hearing for the first time. Said moron is going to believe whichever guy he already likes is telling the truth.

Then the other guy is going to do the same thing for awhile before the moderator complains that they're running over time--you know, because god help us if our candidates had a serious discussion (which they're not) and the programming spills over into some stupid fucking reality show.

Then, at the end of the night, Fox News is going to talk about how McCain won and MSNBC is going to talk about how Obama clearly won. The poll numbers will come out about even and no one's mind will have been changed. The same undecided voters, who are either smart enough to realize that both candidates suck or too stupid to understand the issues, will have little nobs to turn on CNN. (Seriously, no one is undecided because they just like each candidate so damned much...)

At the end of the night, the only thing that will have won is anti-gay sentiments, nuclear proliferation, the uncertain continuation of the Iraq war, the drive up the next war in Iran, corporate welfare, support of Israel, and either one of two broken health care plans.

I'm getting a little bitter over this election if you couldn't already tell.

Go after him with what? His excuses for the Keating 5? His excuse for his awful judgment (see Palin, see Military reports for the 3 planes he crashed, see report on his involvement with the Savings and Loan scandal)? Or maybe he'll go after him with his short stubby arms that disappear far into his shoulder pads??

And this PC comment. I love ass holes who are anti-PC...no one ever calls them on it, but why would you not want to NOT offend people. Every time you say, Oh, PC bullshit...you are saying "let me say anything, fuck whoever hears it."

Whip Obama.....I guarantee he had a negative reaction by people who would be offended.....not a good choice of words, especially for someone that wants to lead all of us. He should be more Obama.

Let's see if McGramps has got the sack to bring up any of the bullshit He and that She-Bush Bitch Palin have been slinging at their recent "Hee Haw Rallies".

Then see what Obama will do hopefully he'll fire back.
