  • I think it's safe to say he faked his own death to live the rest of his life out peacefully on some sweet tropical island full of affectionate honeys.

I know the area well. I've skied mammoth, and I've had to walk down in full ski gear (carrying my skis) from 10,500ft elevation at heavenly resort on Lake Tahoe. Got on the chair on California, and ended up on the side of the road in Nevada hitch-hiking...totally near dead exhausted and covered in sand and mud. *Note to self* walking down a big mountain in ski boots sucks.. Fun times.

I suppose I could have faked my own death, but I'd need a few more (or some) millions to get the will to disappear into tropical paradise.

    God speed Steve...

If no body is found you could be unto something.

Lets hope, but in all honesty I have to say I saw some mighty big paw prints up there in the snow and sand...it's mostly what kept the idea of leaning up against a tree for a quick rest/nap out of the equation.

But it also begs the question, if one day you feel the need to get out and away from your life, completely on your own, and travel around the world strapped to a giant balloon...go flying by yourself...etc...etc... I doubt the home life (wife...kids...job?...) is something you're gonna miss all that much, and race to get back to.

Like Mythbusters says...I'm going to rate this one plausible...

    Either way...this guy is awesome.

Did you wind up Naked? That always seems to happen to Bear Gryllis.

Your theory sounds like a fairly excellent retirement.
My Girlfriend said to me..."How many guitars do you need?" and I replied...."How many pairs of shoes do you need?" She got really quiet.

I did actually, but back in the hot tub at the hotel... completely excellent fajitas afterwards at the Cabo Wabo Cantina brought me back into the land of the living. The hole experience left me feeling born again...with little to no bloating or gas...lol

Nice. I think I would have to upgrade the memory card in my camera, and invest in some particularly excellent hiking boots if I was living where you're at.

Like my buddy in Santa Monica often tells me...."forget about the rest, the West is the best"

Sun, Surf, Ski...good for the soul.

If by being a pilot and flying a plane qualifies people as morons than...well...pretty much all pilots are morons...

what goes up must come down...not always so well or predictable....guages, weather...etc... An airplane is just a engine with wings...not so different than a car engine really.
