Others that I like are:
Mr. Smith Goes to Washington
The American President (cheesy, but I like the acting and Sorkin's dialog)
Hotel Rawanda
Primary Colors
was like a picture
of a sunny day
“We can complain because rose bushes have thorns, or rejoice because thorn bushes have roses.”
― Abraham Lincoln
I wanted to include both of those but they got squeezed out, every time it's on I'm watching.

Absolute Power
Probably the best political satire of all time.
Tim Robbins showed up at the Redding PA show as the title character; he came out in a wheel chair and got electrocuted. I got there too late to see it, but it was in the film about the Vote for Change tour that was on the Sundance Channel.
Totally agree with you on The Contender.
That was a fantastic movie.
Fog of War ~ Robert McNamara
i think you are the ONLY other person i have ever met, even virtually , has ever even seen it. that's a real shame too...it IS such an amazing film and should be seen by EVERYone!
seen it, not very impressive.
i guess worth a rental, better than a lot of other shit out there, but don't expect much.

Same here!
It really gave me a different feeling about politics. Hard for me to explain, but it was like an eyeopener. I had a lot of respect for her character, but the end was a WOW.
It feels like it could have been written by Aaron Sorkin that's how perfect I think this movie was.
exactly...and exactly. LOVED it!
MORE people need to see this flick!
i have recommended it to soooo many people, and sadly, i don't think ANy of em have bothered to see it. and people ask me to recommend flicks all the time b/c i am a huge buff, and many follow my recommendations, but not on this one...:(
