(March 29) - The tiny beach town of Capitola, Calif., is buzzing about a mysterious object that appears to have been photographed on May 16 of last year. Someone using the name Raji posted images on the Web site Craigslist, answered a few questions from UFO hunters around the world, and then just disappeared into cyberspace.

UFO Photos Draw National Attention

Do you think such things/beings exist? For me I don't know, I just don't.

I have a friend who lives in Capitola. I'll ask him what he thinks.

If people from another planet have the ability to travel the great distances between solar systems, to me it would be logical to assume that they could do it without being detected. I mean look at how good our stealth technology is right now, and the farthest we have ever gone is the moon.

Well, if they're real, it just proves they don't need stealth. No one takes these pictures seriously. And the people who do are often ridiculed.

Never really believed in UFOs, but who knows really whats out there. It could well all be true.
Keep on rockin in the free world!!!!

The economy has polarized to the point where the wealthiest 10% now own 85% of the nation’s wealth. Never before have the bottom 90% been so highly indebted, so dependent on the wealthy.
  • To think there is no other life in the universe is pretty silly when you think about it. If you allow for infinity then it is not only likely but 100% guaranteed. We're here aren't we?

Even if it's just one single microscopic bacteria, then you have to be willing to understand that higher life forms obviously do exist. The distances themselves are unbelievably vast. Vast in the sense that they encompass our very existence prohibitively. 100 light years is nothing. Who lives to 100 and can fly such a device at birth?

How much faster than the speed of light do people think it is possible to travel (for objects of our physical composition and similar) would explain the rarity of encountering anything.
Progress is not made by everyone joining some new fad,
and reveling in it's loyalty. It's made by forming coalitions
over specific principles, goals, and policies.

  • I don't know, but real or fake, that first photo is quite haunting.

  • unless the aliens have developed the ability to cancel out cast shadows and atmosheric perspective, which would be pretty incredible AND useless, this pic is obviously fake to anyone with knowledge of Photoshop and 3d modelling programs.

When millions in NYC or LA or Paris or Mexico City or Moscow, etc confirm they saw something on a specific night at a specific time, I will believe.

When two guys in the sticks of Nebraska see something strange in the skies above on a given night, I chalk it up to too many Bush beers or they're nuts or just want to be on the Today show.

Yes I believe in Aliens "from outer space". Do I think they have made it here or visit? I doubt it. Universe is too big to imagine and scientists are finding planets they think mirror earth and its atmosphere.

If they do have the technology to make it here, they can obviously destroy us, so why not show themselves? If we were to take one "prisoner" for experiments (you know we would), they would simply bust out the death star and make us pay....big time.

Germany was the first country to create a UFO. They used test that kind of shit at Groom Lake. Anything to contribute other than an icon?

Where did you get that from? The movies? At the risk of sounding incredibly geeky, you're making a hell of a load of assumptions about the personalities of beings you consider to be fictional.

    Just a joke man.

I dont think they are fictional. I assume they exist. I cannot prove it, but it seems reasonable.

Are you an alien? If so, I was only kidding and I apologize for the insensitive remarks about your kind. I will try to be more galatically correct when posting about aliens (is it ok to call you aliens?).

We are actually called 'grays'. But it's OK, you're forgiven.

We are real. And we do want to exterminate the human species. But I myself was sent here to expose that photo as a fake. ;)

That was my first thought. It isn't faint enough to be in the distance. It kinda just looks like a very complex frisbee.

  • This site reckons the photos are related to an X Files viral marketing campaign.

Either the aliens are really small or this is un-manned. Er, un-beinged. Ouch.

Life elsewhere in the universe: A certainty given the numbers we're dealing with
Extraterrestrials visiting Earth: Possibly, but hard to prove
UFOS?: They exist, as in they ARE Unidentified Flying Objects. Whether that means the above, is harder to tell

That pic: Looked totally fake. I've seen better ones.

Ehm, not linkable I'm afraid. I just read a lot about it when I was younger in various books. Not so active a "believer" at the moment, but this stuff intrigues me too. But perhaps some searching around the "blue book project" will yield some results. I believe that was a US government project set up to investigate UFOs in the 50s-60s, and they got a lot of photo material.

I think these wakos running the site think it is some sort of USA/Alien Tech research. Or you could say: Stargate is real and just a show to make the masses think it is not real.
