One month after the invasion of Iraq, the United States began airlifting
planeloads of cash to Baghdad. Between April 2003 and June 2004, a total of
$12 billion dollars of US currency was shipped to Iraq where it was to be
dispensed by the Coalition Provisional Authority for reconstruction. To
date, at least $9 billion dollars cannot be accounted for. In a startling
new expose in Vanity Fair, Pulitzer Prize winning investigative journalists
Donald Barlett and James Steele follow the money trail from the Federal
Reserve to Iraq.

    why does this come as a surprise to you? MUCH MUCH MUCH more money is wasted here at home. 9 billion is nothing.

    Why do you assume its wasted? 9 billion doesn't just get wasted. I think inefficiency is a code word for theft.

    This isn't a surprise at all.

    War makes the rich get richer however give a listen to what those writers report on the blatant stealing of American money when it's supposed to go to rebuilding Iraq, yeah right. The whole spectacle is a fraud, Iraq will NEVER EVER have freedom, I might take that back. They may get their freedom from there occupiers the US when the oil runs out.

    Read or listen to the article, they only started out with 9B, it has continued to this day to over 20B in cash very hard to trace. Missing cash, missing weapons wouldn't surprise me if the cash didn't make it back to the President's pockets well at least the Vice with Halliburton.

    If 9 billion is nothing to you then send that precious 9b to the Gulf region they could STILL use it desperately.

    Remember them they're still US citizens.

    Same thing if you're rich.

    I work for a half a billioniare and the money is flowing in bigtime from various projects. Unfortunately he gives a ton of it away to useless candidates like Hilary Clinton.
