Sheriff: Man Killed Motorcyclist Who Followed His Two Daughters

Man is claiming self defense after shooting motorcyclist at least two times.

Georgia Man Kills Motorcyclist

I know this is another gun related shooting however is this truly a case of self defense? What do you'll think?

    Not too far from here we had an incident recently where a guy ran over someone (a few times) after they had tried to rob his wife. Vigilante justice everywhere! http://www.wral.com/news/local/story/2492900/

    I think both of those cases are a bit extreme but it is hard to know how someone might react when their loved ones are threatened and pursued.

    In the heat of the moment when you wife was almost stabbed or your daughter is being pursued by a seemingly crazy man, then a sense of self defense takes over.

    A woman I rented a room with told me this story. She was driving through the hills of hollywood when a man approached her window with a gun and demanded her money. She of course handed it right over without question.

    The man then started running down the hill. She hit the gas and hit him as hard as she could. I never blamed her for that. I feel in that situation I might do the same thing. The feeling of being violated, the feeling of staring down a gun and fearing for your life makes you react.

    She never knew what happened to the guy. Perhaps he was fine, perhaps not?

    Each situation is unique to itself. The above two examples went too far and those people will probably face some harsh punishment.

    I don't know if the woman I knew deserved to be punished but I know that I feel she did what she had to do at the time.
