obama's citizenship

before you want to start slamming me, i just want to clarify that i had not heard anything about this before last night and would like someone to fill me in on the whole thing if you know about it. one of my co-workers told me before i went home that he had heard obama might not have been a natural born US citizen. i did a quick search online earlier and saw a couple things that said he's supplied a birth certificate, but it was a copy and didn't have a raised seal on it. what's the deal with this? has he provided a legit birth certificate? is this all just bullshit? i really don't want this to be something resembling a "well, mccain said...." thread. unless, of course, mccain actually said that. but i think if mccain had started this rumor, i'd like to think i would have already heard about it. but seeing as how there's been nothing in the paper or on the news when i watch it, i figured it was maybe some whacko conspiracy bullshit.

so what's the dealio?

    i'm just asking for clarification on this. when i was told this story, the first thing that ran through my mind was "well how the fuck can he be on the ballot then? don't they check this shit out beforehand?"

    THIS won't happen because whoever's job it is to make sure he's a citizen needs to get fired or will risk getting fired. Especially to let it get this far there's better mileage with the ACORN scenario.

    one last thing. i noticed on his birth cert. that he's barack hussein obama II. aren't roman numerals supposed to be used when it's III or higher? shouldn't he be a jr? i had a friend in college that used to use II at the end of his name and i always gave him shit for it.

    I don't know about the junior/II thing. Maybe some people just choose not to use "jr". Maybe it's a cultural thing?

    Same here. My certificate, SS card, and driver's license all have the II. I'm just glad I didn't have to be a Junior all my life. I guess it depends on how one's parents fill out the birth certificate.

    I'm just glad that he used to use drugs and that he's open and honest about it. He even goes so far as to offer an introspective explanation for it.

    When I was young, I had a cocaine and amphetamines problem that ended up with my living on the streets and rethinking my entire life.

    Nowadays, I have to keep that a secret because people will no doubt judge me for my past regardless of how much I've recovered since then.

    If GW had been honest about being a spoiled cokehead in Texas, I would've forgiven him. But, instead he denied any of it and contributed to the lie that forces other people like me to live in silence, when it would be much healthier for us to be able to talk about it, as drug addiction is a life-long problem even when the addict hasn't used them in decades.

    neither of us has a raised seal and they both look like copies...
