Yet another reason....

All too often people who join military organizations do not consider the multifaceted outcomes of such a choice. This article helps to emphasise a growing problem among families where one or both parents leave to be a "soldier".....

Makes much more sense, to live in the present tense.

A truly liberal person is conservative when necessary.

  • Truly sad... While I am totally against this war, I've always thought the "if you believe in it you should go an fight" argument was stupid and unrealistic, but I have changed my mind on that (at least for this war).

We keep seeing leaves shortened and deployments lengthened... right now in a three and an a half year span, you can be deployed for two and a half of those years... Imagine... that's almost a thousand nights of people here at home going to sleep, not knowing if their husband, wife, father, mother, son, daughter, etc. will be alive when you wake up in the morning... I couldn't imagine living under those conditions.

And at the same time, you have soldiers at war, dealing with the stress of their day to day lives on the battle field, but on top of that, the stress of not knowing if your children are ok, or if your spouse is able to handle everything. You could have a one year old child at home that doesn't even know you... that's heartbreaking.

I'm sure there are cases were that stress and situations bring families closer, but I'm sure that it ruins more families.

The same type of people who support this war (from the comfort and safety of home) are the ones who talk about family values and keeping traditional families together...
    My whole life
    was like a picture

Somebody will arm anybody whether it is the States or not. At least that is what you will read within the end of page one. ;)

This creates a good position for the States now they know who has the weapons when they need to go in and clean house. Par for the course, ain't it!

Keep the economy rolling and no better way then weapons to create war which then feeds the need for more weapons. The good news is the States keep the really, really, cool weapons for their children to go overseas and kill with. So they got that going for them.

Forget democracy. Just arm the assholes who work for you. That took all of about three to four years to fail.
You've changed your place in this world!
