It's hideous, I agree, but I don't see what his race or income bracket has to do with anything. Just another scum bag, they come in all shapes and sizes.
yes they do come in all shapes and sizes...however certain groups have a higher occurance of specific crimes. Just like pedophiles tend to be white. Or middle eastern cultures having a higher incidence of terrorism? Racial profiling wouldn't exisit if the statistics werent there.

It's the hate that you are spreading, and furthermore justifying.

    You can't justify the unjustifiable.

I know you intend to be part of the solution, but spreading hate is not the way to do it.

Oh get over it, if you haven't got something intellectual to share the move along. Typos are nothing to get all giddy about. Grow up.

You pathetic loser. Professional medical personnel do not stereotype health care. It is people like you who cause these kids to fight against authority in the first place by saying ignorant comments like that. Even YOU would get quality care if your sorry ass was brought in.

So, you just stereotype during non-work hours?

thats the logical and obvious response...but some people need comfortable absolutes because they are insecure and feel "threatened."

It's sad, that even most kids know that.

What he is accusing you of is providing "lesser" service to blacks because you do not like blacks very much. Perhaps a better tactic would be to have asked whether you feel your biases cause a problem. I know that plenty of people in such a field can put their bias aside and just treat people the way they are supposed to. Nevertheless, given your history, many of us, fair or not, percieve you as not liking blacks. This COULD compromise you professionally.

Another example is that I firmly believe in the medical profession, when you get a pregnant female, it should be your role to offer them their options. You mentioned 12 year old pregnant girls. Do you make sure to steer them clear of abortion, or can you put your feelings on the topic aside if that is the choice they wish to make? My wife, a social worker, works with pro-choice people that go both ways. Some provide all options and others pretend abortion is not an option and if brought up, try to guilt them out of it. The latter is unethical, at least in my opinion. And it would be unethical to let your prejudice against "those people" affect your provision of services. I happen to think it is a legit question of whether or not that is a problem for you.
I cannot come up with a new sig till I get this egg off my face.

My personal feelings on issues do not affect the quality of care I give to my patients. If however a 12 yr old girl asked for my advice, I would direct her to the proper field that could assist her. If a 12 yr old I knew personally asked me the same question, I would give her my opinion. That is called professionalism.

They do--you're just not conscious of the ways in which they do so. It's the same for all of us.

Think every thought as though it's written in the sky...cause in terms of our unconscious behaviours and how we unwittingly act out our true attitudes, we may as well write our thoughts in the sky.

I dont live in Akron. But I hear the drug and gang issues are worse there. I'm in Cleveland. Inner city health care isn't hard...it is sad. 9, 10, 11 year old girls pregnant. Teen boys and younger with stabbings and gunshot wounds. These kids never have a chance because their parents, friends and others hand them shit for life from the minute they are born. From early childhood on they exposed to guns, drugs and sex. Theirs is an example of what happens when there is no authority or rules followed.
Questioning authority is a GOOD thing.

My dad taught me from a young age, QUESTION AUTHORITY.

You have a big problem when someone questions the authority you follow, the bible. Because I know thats what you mean by angles/rules.

Ya, I may not follow the bible. I've done a hell of a lot more to help people with issues (eating disorders, cutting, etc) than people I know that do, and I don't go preaching about how I'm morally superior.

Sorry, that's my rant of the day.
