Eddie vedder really does Cat songs really well and vedders cover of 'Trouble' is probably one of the best.

I think that it's sometimes hard to tell just how good a musician is until you hear them do a cover. Eddie vedder really is very good. Almost everything he covers by any artist seems to be top stuff.

Much respect. Not that I didnt know he was a great artist before any of the covers :D

You're right. PJ seem to have that knack of doing covers extremely well, look at the long list of covers they've done over the years and how well they've pulled them off, can't think of any other band that does covers the way PJ/Eddie do them. They really are unique in that way! I love it when Ed does Cat Stevens covers, absolutely love it!

  • I think that the version of Trouble by Elliott Smith is far way better than the one of Eddie.
I am a big Fan of Elliott and the lyric of the song fit much more with him . The version he made is very emotional...

I think Neil puts on a better Rocking in the free world..

Other than that, I prefer pj and ed solo!

perhaps 'Fortunate Son', a song Pearl jam covered perhaps too much around 2003?..I thought it was a very average cover.
  • Eddie does do great Cat Stevens covers
He Kinda reminds me of Cat Stevens. Their mannerisms
and the way they talk a bit. And of course the hair.

I'm so lucky to have grown up in the 70's.

It's a shame the bum rap Cat Stevens has gotten. The good he has done and to hear him speak, then have the media twist his words. They come up with anything to make a dollar.

    Cat Stevens is hot

    Eddie's hotter

I thought I read that Cat stevens son is a bit of a Pearl Jam Fan, who himself is good and reminds me of his dad.

Bob Marley 'Redemption Song' was another good cover Eddie did, I thought it had a nice flow to it.

Well said man! My sentiments exactly! Just been watching Brad on UTube. Awesome, first time I've seen 'em though I have their albums. Very impressed. Top quality music, as we all know it's nothing like Pearl Jam but it's these side projects the boys get into that keep Pearl Jam together cos they have so much of interest when they're not together as PJ that when they do get back they're not sick of being just that one band.

He is very good. I liked the Pied Piper and Endoscopises best.
