Man my paper guy on U Street in DC just down from the VP House, I bought 4 Washington Post from him. He said he was up till 3am then slept for a hour and a half and picked up his papers and made to his usual spot this morning.

    He was happy as hell

I considered it. The last time I got and saved the paper was on 9/11/2001.

I got a Chicago Tribune, then once I left the store I realized there were a couple of small rips in it. Oh well.

Thought about it, but I only keep commemorative sports editions like the Sox and Phillies WS editions.

I subscribe, so I had one on my porch this morning. It's been read, so it will now go in the recycle bin with the others.

I subscribe to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, and will save today's edition. I would have liked to get one or two from other major cities, especially Chicago, but don't have any real newsstands or stores nearby that sell anything but local papers.

Yeah, I grabbed a Daily News a few minutes after they first came out...they rushed out an edition at about 3 in the morning. Me and some friends were in Union Square for hours after Obama's speech (which was absolutely inspirational, no doubt), and we went walking to find a bar. Passed by a paper with a huge picture of Obama and knew it would be a good idea. We ended up staying out all night. It was a great evening.

That's almost exactly what I was going to say. I find it hard to believe anyone other than my grandparents gets a paper.

After your morning cup of coffee, when you're ready to evacuate your bowels, nothing beats the portability of the newspaper. I'd rather not sit there with a laptop on my lap trying to read the Internet.

Got the Sydney paper this morning. The first 13 pages dedicated to the election as well as Obama's victory speech reprinted word for word.

We get 2 daily papers. The Seattle PI and Bellingham Herald. :) Granted we don't read them like we used to for "news", but still enjoy the local news, sports recaps, special events mags and crosswords. I can't imagine not going out and getting the morning paper. :) That said, I really don't think I'll save them. Well, maybe now that it's been brought up. ;)

No, they were all out when I got to the grocery store. I wanted to pick up the Times and maybe the Chicago Tribune. But...I missed my chance.

I consoled myself with the knowledge that I never take good care of things like that, and it would have just become food for the silverfish in my house..

USA Today and NY Times were sold out all over campus (and I looked all over)... and Starbucks was sold out. Oh well, I tried.

I'm hearing that about the Washington Post. My Roomie was telling me they are going for like $30-$50 on E-bay. NUTS.

I'd love to have a Washington Post from today but I'm not gonna spend that for it.

  • I didn't get a chance to get out until 7 PM, and everywhere I went they were sold out of every newspaper. I just saw a story on the news that the Times and local NY papers even increased production. they also said all of the papers are selling on EBAY, and that the NY Times is fetching $50 or more

I've got an extra one or two, I should've told my lady in Palm Beach Florida to get a paper from down there and save it for me. I still can't believe Florida is BLUE.

see I can bleeive Florida is blue, it was very close in 2000, and '04 wasn't that big a gap ...

It's Indiana and Virginia that floor me.

If you really want a paper, check your local news sites ... some are printing extras and selling them ... I'm sure there's an online store, and back issues for sale section.

The NYT sold 1.4 million copies. Look at that Obama's already boosting the economy.
