He's doing poorly among latino and white voters. How will he even do in New Mexico or California, the latino heavy states? What are his nomination chances?

i don't understand the "Obama isn't doing well with white voters" thing. He won in iowa and lost nh by a hillary cunt hair. Both of those places look like the landing dock for the mayflower. He won 25% of the white vote in sc after being projected to win about 10. Thats in the deep south! Hillary only got 36% of the white vote in sc. Granted he didn't do well with Latinos in nv, but thats one state and Ted Kennedy has huge rapport with latinos. We'll see if that has an impact. But the "not doing well with whitw voters" is the media blowing smoke up your ass.

As a matter of fact, Edwards got the highest percentage of "white votes in sc. Factor out Edwards, and i'll bet Obama would have beaten hillary in the "white vote" category. Don't let the media fool you. Obama is doing fine with white voters. The only category hillary is really beating him in is the Stupid voters category. (seriously according to exit polls). Its the Stupid voters that scare me.

White women are voting for Obama more than Clinton, right? That's what I've been hearing. So just white men are still scared. Believe me though, the whole "Obama sounds like a terrorist name" bit is for real here in the south. There are a whole lot of people down here that wouldn't vote for him because they believe all those BS chain mails that have been going around. He's got some serious damage control on his hands. Not that it's his fault.

I find it very interesting that, in Florida tonight, Hillary got less of a percentage, and Obama got more than a percentage, of their respectively OPPOSITE votes in South Carolina.

In Florida, they did not campaign, their delegates do not count, and there were tons of early absentee votes dating back to December.

And yet she could not take this state the way Obama took South Carolina after campaigning there.

    I find that interesting.

  • In every state but NH, Obama has out performed his polling numbers. In the next week he will close on Hillary, and if things continue as they have, Obama behind by several points in the polls, may not actually be a bad thing. Also, what happens if Gore endorses him this week, as many are predicting he may?

I am exhausted thinking of a Bush-Clinton-Bush-Clinton white house progression. And... McCain will have a much better chance at beating Hillary than we will Obama. I really, really, really, hope America realizes Obama is the man for the job. He can still carry the day... the pro-Obama, anti-Clinton feeling is rising.

Speaking of Michigan/Florida delegates not counting ... what do you bet, if they would help get Hillary the nomination, the Clintons will piss and moan until they actually DO count?

I can already envision a very plausible scenario in which Obama gets screwed.

I almost agree Senator Obama is the best choice. But the anti Senator Clinton stick is all media hype and rabid right wingers who are very afraid of powerfull women. Florida gave Senator Clinton over 50% of their votes today (counting not completed)

The only compaints about voting problems were in NH and didn't Senator Clinton win that state?

No, its not votes not counting. Michigan and Florida state governments decided to move up their primaries in order to give their state more meaning than the tradtional "iowa, New hampshire" nonsense (where 2 relatively small states play a large role in the primary process). The DNC decided they didnt like the idea and decided to "punish" Michigan and Florida by saying their delegates dont count- and the major candidates all agreed to boycott the states..

    but here's the catch...
Obama, Edwards, Biden and Richardson all had their names removed from the Michigan Ballot... Clinton didnt bother- therefore winning Michigan uncontested.

Clinton also broke the agreement and campaigned some in florida... and i have read some reports that she is already trying to get Mich and Florida delegates reinstated.

I'm telling you, if it comes down to it, they will fight tooth and nail for these uncounted delegates. And will probably get them, which of course would be completely unfair.

But the Trailer Park Kennedys don't play fair.

I need to remember where I read about this, because I think she is already pursuing the state of MI for the delegates.

Here, I found what I read on it...

    South Carolina:

    Barack Obama 55.44%
    Hillary Clinton 26.52%
    John Edwards 17.57%

    Florida:

    Clinton 50%
    Obama 33%
    Edwards 14%

Difference? They all campaigned in South Carolina.

    And the delegates there mattered.

Those guys are unbelievable. Here's what I don't get: Do you know anybody who has/will vote for her? She's winning all these delegates, but I can't think of one person I know who will cop to wanting to vote for her.

i don't think i know any either. The people that post on this forum seem to pretty much fit into the same demographic though and therefore GENERALLY run around in the same types of circles. The problem is, its a big big world outside of our cozy little demographic with some really, really stupid people in it.

Well unfortunately, about half of my small office at work (4 of 7) are voting for her. I don't exactly know if this has anything to do with it, but they are all gay women in their 40's-50's. From what i've heard from them, hilary has a large gay following (both men and women). My vote is for OBAMA and they are open to him if that is the choice as all of us are in agreement to end this bush fueled war.
