Some 115 geese, adults and goslings were gassed to death.
Not sure of the exact day but I just seen it on KING 5 news
out of Seattle.
This was near Bremerton i believe.
A lake surrounded by housing has FOUR useless people living there.
Whoever you people are I hope you get kicked in the teeth.
ONE person among many, was very upset at these geese for doing what
geese do best, being themselves, Canadian goose.
This asshole sent a $700.00 check to the USDA to get rid of these
115 Canadian geese by way of gassing them to death.
The ONE asshole had THREE other assholes in the area join his campaine of death to 115 harmless geese.

I am very fuckin pissed at the United States of America with the USDA
and these weak very terrible scum-bags.

We are fucked in many forms with this goverment and with people like this.

You so called human-beings will be visited by a wonderful energy called
Karma.

I can only wish I be granted a direct path to the beating of your asses.
Fuck you mother fuckers.

How about collecting some "squab" for the homeless to dine on??? "Squab" being pigeons or in the current common vernacular, "Rock Pigeons." The entire continent could do without those foreign invaders.

Canada Geese are going to be continually killed in this manner due to their exploding population here in the states. They have been transformed right along with the landscape. Many populations of the species no longer migrate. This is due to their discovery of the ideal Canada Goose habitat.......suburban/urban parks and golf courses. These habitats equal mucho grub and nearl zero predator presence. Their aggressive nature, especially during the breeding season, makes them a surly neighbor at best. Their further adaptation to human presence has rendered the sport of hunting them (the majority of the non-migratory birds) into a farce.

rock pigeons.....not a bad idea, except many a times i believe them to be the pets of those i donate to. i would agree that they are "invaders".

i will also agree with your accurate description of their ideal habitat...they live in our neighborhood and can be seen frequently defecating on many manicured lawns.

fortunately, we still have quite a migratory bird collection and those who choose to collect them.

Reminds me of this farmer that was so pissed off at the govt that he drove his fertilizer sprayer to his local city hall and entirely sprayed/coated the front of the building with liquefied pig shit, and this thing he had can spray shit like you wouldn't believe, let me tell you.

I can't imagine how nasty that must have smelled (actually I can a little), but I'm absolutely certain the smell would have permeated the entire building enough to make everyone inside gag.

    fucking priceless!

Good riddance, I say. Those Canada Geese are flying shit machines. It would be fine if there was a natural predator that kept the population under control. Since there isn't, I'm happy there are programs that work to control the population. It would be nice if the meat could benefit food banks, though.

    "Rock Dove" = Pigeon

    Arguably the first domesticated bird.

A&P should start selling frozen bald eagle in Canada.

They actually changed the common name to Rock Pigeon. The species is not native to North America.

I'm gonna use genomics and evolution to dispute that. If apes were here, I had relatives. I wonder how many of my chimp ancestors were slaughtered and displaced by those ancient north americans. ;)

I have half a mind to apply for native status. But my other half is saying "Don't do it man!"

Yea, exactly, the continental shift. Or the frozen passages after the ice age.

Why do we forget stuff like that. I mean, what about the fact that slavery existed all over the world. No more than 100 years earlier Africans were enslaving Europeans. We just focus on the last 6 months most of the time. More people are interested in Paris Hilton because you don't need to know a lot about her to have an opinion. Well at least we are getting smarter.

  • A part of me still thinks the Neanderthal got a bum rap.

However new evidence shows that they interbred themselves into gradual "extinction". Seems odd as I bet they were better hung. I guess size really doesn't matter that much over technique after all.

Those geese are starting to become a problem. I remember when it was fairly rare to see them where I live and now every pond, lake and puddle has at least a few of them. I'll bet I saw 20 or 30 of them flying around near my house this morning.

I'm not saying they should be gassed, but I'd like to see what their population numbers look like over the last 20 years or so.

When looking at population numbers, one has remember that the Canada Goose is divided into about six sub-species (one was recently given full species status) , and then divided into non-migratory and migratory birds. The migratory birds are then divided based on the starting point of their migration and where they winter. One figure that I have just seen was 2,000,000+ of the non-migratory or resident birds in 2007. They are increasing at a rate between 1% to 3%. Most of the migratory populations are also increasing.

Thanks for the info. The population where I live has to be increasing faster than that rate. They are literally everywhere today and were basically nowhere 5 years ago.
