What if...

What if...

What if the Obamas had an unwed, pregnant teenage daughter?

What if John McCain was a former president of the Harvard Law Review?

What if Barack Obama finished fifth from the bottom of his college
graduating class?

What if McCain had only married once, and Obama was a divorcee?

What if Obama had met his second wife in a bar and had a long
affair while he was still married?

What if Michelle Obama was the wife who not only became addicted
to pain killers but also acquired them illegally through her
charitable organization?

What if Cindy McCain graduated from Harvard?

What if Obama had been a member of the Keating Five?
(The Keating Five were five United States Senators accused of
corruption in 1989, igniting a major political scandal as part of the
larger Savings and Loan crisis of the late 1980s and early 1990s.)

What if Obama couldn't read from a teleprompter?

What if Obama was the one who had military experience that included
discipline problems and a record of crashing seven planes?

What if Obama was the one who was known to publicly display a serious
anger management problem?

What if Michelle Obama's family had made their money from beer
distribution?

You could easily add to this list. If these questions reflected
a reality, if the tables were turned, do you really believe the
election numbers would be as close as they are?

This is what racism does. It covers up, rationalizes and minimizes
qualities in one candidate and emphasizes negative
characteristics in another when there is a color difference.

And, think of this - the candidates' educational backgrounds:

Barack Obama:
Columbia University - B.A. Political Science with a Specialization in
International Relations.
Harvard - Juris Doctor (J.D.) Magna Cum Laude

Joseph Biden:
University of Delaware - B.A. in History and B.A. in Political Science.
Syracuse University College of Law - Juris Doctor (J.D.)

John McCain:
United States Naval Academy - Class rank: 894 of 899

Sarah Palin:
Hawaii Pacific University - 1 semester
North Idaho College - 2 semesters - general study
University of Idaho - 2 semesters - journalism
Matanuska-Susitna College - 1 semester
University of Idaho - 3 semesters - B.A. in Journalism

Education isn't everything, but this is about the two highest
offices in the land as well as our standing in the world.

You make the call.

That tells quite a bit about America and the last 8 years under George W Bush. Where has the US high standards gone or did we EVER have any?

i think it has more to do with labels of partys than racism. being a democrat or a republican seems to mean a 'lot' in deciding what flies and what doesn't...and i still don't quite know why. it seems as long as your party touts family values it doesn't matter fuck-all else what you actually DO, and the inconsistencies of such policies and ways of life, etc. and this family values party acts like a pitbull in the attacks and yet the liberal democrats who support heathen lifestyles i guess stay true to their hippie style  by not really fighting back, not going after the jugular, not following through and often taken the higher ground...and yet...it doesn't seem to pay off, sadly. i think it far more a devisive political party issue than a black and white issue.
    Stay with me...
    Let's just breathe...

I am myself like you somehow

  • I was talking sports yesterday with a friend and we were discussing NFL quarterbacks.
We tossed around the names of those we thought were the greatest QB's of all time Montana, Elway, Favre, Namath, Fouts, etc. And as our discussion continued I could not help but notice that everyone we had discussed was white.
I told him I thought Warren Moon should be considered a top ten all-time QB but he disagreed. "Moon was good" he says "but he never won a SuperBowl."

So I say, "Never did Dan Fouts or Dan Marino and you were just singing their praises earlier in our conversation..."

So I find out my friend has a problem with black quarterbacks... He says "traditionally the black QB has not been considered a competent enough of a leader to take a team and win the big game ...look at how Donovan McNabb choked..."

He says "it's not purely about athletic ability... It's about having decision making and intelligence"

This is news to me. Really?

So I changed the topic.... Having a friend withstrong republican beliefs I asked him how important it was for the President of the US to be of above average intelligence.

He says "that's about leadership not so much about having a high IQ"

I asked him if he thought he was a racist.

"no I'm not a racist" he says "I'm just as willing to hire a black man as a white man, Im all about who's best for the job"

    I just laughed.

I sure don't. If I'm a business owner I would hire the more qualified person.
