David Foster Wallace commits suicide

What a shame. He was a very talented writer, if pretty troubled. But I think that's an element in alot of really good author's personal stories, the whole "tortured soul" thing.

There's mention in his obit of an article he wrote in 2000 about John McCain. It says he had reworked it, into a book. I wonder what he thought of McCain these days.

    Wow, that came out of nowhere. I read Broom of the System at the beginning of this year and didn't like it at all, but I still think he had a fascinating writing style. This is sad.
