I keep flipflopping between them, and since I'm voting after work, I need to make up my freakin' MIND, already. I woke up thinking that a black president could be a more powerful agent of change than a woman president, but when it comes to the actual issues, Clinton is closer to me so far as what I believe is important for America- helping middle-class and poor families, protecting the environment, curbing trade to protect american jobs, providing affordable healthcare...
So, I'm now, at 1:30pm est, leaning toward Clinton. Who the hell knows if that will change by 5:00??
Anyone else still trying to decide (dem or rep, either). Of course, if I really wanted to throw away my vote, I'd write in Gravel's name, since he & I matched almost perfectly in several votematches.

Good luck...;)
agreed. She and her husband had 8 years. She already had her time....decision is easy.
If I were going back and forth, the question I would ask myself is to picture them as President. With Hillary, you bring back all the rivalries from the 90's, all the shit from Bills personal life will become issues again, and Republicans will be together in doing anything they can do to bring her down.
You don't get that Obama. The very WORST it could be is partisan bickering, but not to the level that was here w/ the Clintons.
There's more skeletons in that bag that will be brought out.
Obama on the other hand appeals to many people on both sides of the aisle. He doesn't bring any baggage. I think a Obama presidency would be a lot smoother of a ride than a political bickering up and down of a Clinton presidency.

How about someone that at least has a chance to change things?
I can't wait to hear you people all bitching about how the Dems fucked us in the ass even worse than the Republicans in less than two years.
Hopefuly you at least have some phony terror incident to blame when all the shit hits the fan.
She also gets to say, "its all bush's fault", which is going to drive me fucking nuts. Just STFU and do something about it, you stupid democrats.
But no. WTF are they gonna do? SPEND EVEN MORE!
They are gonna jack entitlments through the fucking roof.
Meanwhile the dollar is dying a nasty violent fucking death.
:(
If I opened it now would you not understand?
That was needed in a thread about someone trying to decide between Obama and Clinton...

This is a great point... Hillary is so divisive, Obama has republicans that have voted for him...
Plus Obama has cool celebrity videos like this one

i suggest, first of all, putting the black versus woman thing far from your mind. Thats crazy speak and only clouding your vision. Next, i'm hearing that someone who is a "change agent" is important to you. Yeah? And well it should be. Now i have a few questions. Which candidate do you think most possesses tools, qualifications, and characteristics to BE that. You also list several issues that are important to you, and honestly, both candidates speak alot on all of those issues. Their platforms are very similar. The question then, again, is which candidate do you feel has the greatest potential to actually implement changes in those areas? Who do you actually trust?
mostly, its cause my guys dropped out (edwards and kucinich). as for policy, clinton and obama have similar or equal platforms on about 95% of their policies. you really are voting for the PERSON you want to be in charge. now, i do not fall for all the "clintons are crooks" BS, cause that is all it is...BS. its republican hackery that took 10 years of investigation, and they got nothing on them aside from clinton getting some ass every now and then.
anyways...the fact that clinton takes more money from insurance companies than anyone else (either party) is disturbing, especially considering that she mandates healthcare...and if you can't afford it or dont want it, she will take it out of your paycheck. thats bullshit. i dont understand why we cant just get a single-payer system, but clintons proposal is not the answer. obama's is slightly better, IMHO.
as for the war, i just believe obama when he says he'll get the troops out asap. he also said no permanent bases. and he was right from the beginning. clinton's position, and the fact that she just CAN NOT admit that she fucked up on the most important vote of her career (which edwards did admit, and i applaud him for that) is troubling.
anyways, i could go on, but those are things i consider when i think clinton v. obama. not sure i'll even vote dem. in the national election.
oh yeah. and what someone said earlier about the republican machine and how its gonna just trash her is totally true. if she is the nominee, we are going to have to re-live the 90s with all scandal-this and scandal-that again, and she will not bring in swing states. with her, its a roll of the dice whether the vote will be close enough for the republicans to steal again or not. with obama, i can see him bringing in a couple swing states to make this thing not even close (we already pissed away the real opportunity to do that with edwards...).
Boo Hoo Mike Gravel....

You kinda need to look at the facts when it comes to the Clintons, glad you didnt vote for them.

link didn't work, but anyways...posted this in another thread awhile back...
The dislike for Clinton goes back to the late 1980s, when Kenneth Starr opened an investigation calle the Arkansas Project on the Clintons to dig up dirt on them for Republicans to use in the upcoming election (although Clinton did not run until the '92 election, he was seen as the up-and comer in the Democratic Party). This is where you get things like "Clinton murdered Vince Foster" and the crap about Whitewater, both of which are factually completely false, but are perpetuated on television or the radio daily by the likes of Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh.
It took Starr 8 years to get anything on Clinton, which was his false testimony given during the Paula Jones trial. He was then busted for it, and deservidly so. THe overall hatred of the Clinton's is really hard to explain. It mostly comes from the far-right, which is kinda bizarre because the Clintons are both very moderate, politically (remember, Clinton left office with an approval rating in the 70s, so most people did like him, despite the BS with Lewinsky).
This is not coming from a Clinton appologist, because I will not vote for her. If she is the nominee, i will vote 3rd party (i live in illinois, so it won't matter anyway, the state will go Dem.). All the crazyness about her bringing in socialism and whatnot is a rallying cry for opponents as well, although a quick look at her voting record and her policy proposals show that she is the most moderate candidate out there.
I decided to vote Obama...for some reasons.
Kind of feel like a sell out though.
Kucinich and Edwards names staring me in the face.
We need to appear united.
Obama it is. I'd like to see him win the election. Feel he may be more electable than Hillary in November. Also...the republicans will spend an entire Clinton presidency going after her...like they did to Bill. Wasting our taxpayer $$ on their agenda.
Hope this may have helped you.
Forget all that shit... they are still pulling scams

Who needs a link? My own two eyes and ears are enough for me, and the clintons are very much deseving of the "slime" label. It isn't B.S. Either way, i'm glad you're not voting for them... i mean her.

I didn't know we were trying to figure out if you where home schooled or not...
Based on what you have been posting I would say.... YES! Am I right?
gravel rocks
Not that it means much to me....but really...why would he do that during the national anthem? Just curious...What do you think, Master Framer?
Cause he forgot? Maybe he was too busy singing along? I don't know, but I know it doesn't prove he is part of the NWO and just a pawn in the devil's big plans for the world like some people are saying...
just a disclaimer. its OK for mastercrybaby to insult people.
but if you throw some dirt back he will send you threatening PMs. classy guy.
GO OBAMA!
It probably doesn't matter what he was doing. People act like he took a dump on the flag. I don't put my hand over my heart for the national anthem. Why? I don't know. It doesn't mean I'm less patriotic or the guy who does put his hand over his heart loves America more than me.
http://www.reverbnation.com/brianzilm
Personally...I have never felt threatened by him.
Sure you're not just overly sensitive?
you dont know his history. the threats he's given have mostly been in PM, so obviously you wouldnt know about it. but he easily has no shame insulting women too. so stick around, you'll get yours too
I doubt it...But I'll keep it in mind.
it only proves he's unpatriotic and has no allegiance to this Great Country

They say we only use 10% of our brains...I think the decimal was moved a couple places to the left in your case.
Putting your hand over your heart does not = patriotism.
George Bush does it everyday and he's the furthest thing rom patriotic that I can think of. Hell, I'm sure God Almighty Ron Paul has not put his hand over his heart on occassion.

thats a bit extreme no?
Ohhhhh.... that's what it means... ok got it!
