What happens if you are a permanent absentee voter and you never receive your ballot in the mail?

Can you got the polls and vote in person? or what?

In WA state, it says you need to go to the County Auditor to get a replacement.

Edit to say we have no polls here as we're all vote by mail.

  • that happened to me so i just went in and voted early last week.
  • Just wondering what it's like from state to state.

I think voting by mail can be very effective and an easy way to beat the long lines at polling places, but today I've been hearing from quite a few people that they didn't receive their ballots.

The mail seems to be one of the few things the government does pretty well, so I've been championing it as a way to vote.

But, like I said, just wondering.

My state has you sit down for a minute with a poll worker and computer. If you asked for an absentee ballot and didn't get it, they invalidate the absentee ballot, and you just go ahead and vote in person.

Not getting a requested absentee ballot appears to be a non-problem.

In Illinois you can if you sign an affidavit that you never got your absentee ballot.
