OK, long story short: An 11-year-old Wisconsin girl died from a common and treatable form of Diabetes while her parent prayed for her recovery. They did not take her to a doctor, even though this young lady had been ill for a couple of weeks. They say they're not worried about being prosecuted because they're in "God's hands." Worst part is, daddy is a cop. How ridiculous.

I'm down with the healing power of prayer, but only when it's IN ADDITION TO MEDICAL TREATMENT. Hopefully both of these goofs will be leading prayer groups in prison.

Now, I don't want to rip somebody for being steadfast in faith. I wish I was programmed that way. But, to not take your child to a doctor when he or she is obviously ill is just plain stupid.

I just don't understand how some people still live as if it's the 16th century. Hey, take your kid to the hospital. Now these people are without their daughter because they decided God's power was all they needed. Dumb, dumb, dumb.

Can't those people believe that their god had the foresight to create smart people who invented advanced medical treatments to save people?

Those parents are assholes for letting their kid die. The pastor or preacher of those parents is an asshole for filling their heads with nonsense. If there is a god I bet she's pissed at those parents for being stupid.

  • These parents no doubt deserve time in jail.

I pray all the time, and the times I have prayed for someone who is really sick I am praying that doctors, surgeries, medicine will heal that person.

If their pastor is the one filling there heads with the thought that their sick kid doesn't need medical help he should be in the jail cell next to them.

I guess God only hears and answers the prayers of R&B Grammy winners and overpaid professional athletes.

She had probably been ill for about 30 days, suffering symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, excessive thirst, loss of appetite and weakness, he said. She had not been diagnosed with the ailment previously, he said.

Anyone who does not seek medical attention for their child who had been ill for 30 days, does not deserve the right to look after children. I have seen undiagnosed diabetic kids. It's clear there is something seriously wrong with them. They go downhill very quickly and they don't bounce back like you would expect from a normal 2-3 day virus. It's gets worse and worse. Ignorant, stupid people.

I wonder what will happen to their other 3 kids.
