ive watched a couple of movies with human trafficking as a plot line, and it really disturbs me. The more awareness we raise about it the better. I think the scariest part about it all, is that it is relatively easy to do if you have a gullible person...it could happen to anyone really. And once its happened, it seems quite difficult to escape.
in the 70's i knew a guy that would get girls wacked out on angel dust and sell them into the white slave trade.

glad you agree. but no it wasn't chocolate that did it, it was walking in Trafalgar sq and seeing a que of people lining up to see a something on human trafficking, including images. I personally wouldn't go to watch this sort of thing, because i would feel very upset....i also don't think they need to have pictures, all they need to do is talk to people and tell how it affects victims.

when i found out i fired him. and told his current girl what he was planning and she ran. i hope he's dead by now. i saw him a few years later and he was standing on corners in chicago playing his guitar for donations. (or so he said). he actually came to ask for his job back.

Ah, that sounds interesting genie. I guess it would be pretty confronting to see but I'm a big believer in Art for the sake of bringing awareness. It's not something that everyone can stomach, but sometimes people need to see the graphic nature of reality in order to be shaken out of their complacency. But I do understand why you prefer not to see it. I guess it would depend for me on the nature of the exhibit and how it was presented.
Not that I take any pleasure in seeing that kind of thing visually but if it helped to bring awareness then I suppose I could find the courage to view it.

ah, i don't think it's only in London, it's everywhere....in European countries and North America. everywhere where those "dealers" think it's a good spot to do their business.
