Hi,
I was wondering what you think the chances are of someone being elected President of the USA if they fell into one of the following catagories, assumong they had reasonable policies, of course. Please base this on what you think the country would say, not just yourselves.
A) A women
An African-American
C) A Homosexual
D) A Muslim
E) A Jew
F) An Atheist/Agnostic
Cheers

The retards at Fox news would like to have you believe Obama is B,D, and F.
Oh, I forgot G) Not bitter, duck-shooting pisshead.
So he isn't a black man at all?
Ah, but there's some questioning of the "African-American" terminology, because Obama's not the descendant of imported slaves, right? His dad was Kenyan? I dunno. Something like that. A lot of people get picky about the ideological baggage of the term. You could be of African descent and American, but somehow that would be deemed different if the Middle Passage didn't come into the equation.
A. Hillary has a shot.
B. Same with Obama
C. None
D. None
E. I see no reason why a good candidate should not be recognized.
F. Probably not a good chance. Too many Bible thumpers.
All of those choices are meaningless if you don't have the millions of dollars it takes to get you smeared all over the tv thus elected. It all comes down to money.

If the candidate has the following trait:
-Atheist - 63% are less likely to support
-Homosexual- 46% are less likely to support
-Muslim- 46% are less likely to support
-Woman- 11% are less likely to support
-Black 4% are less likely to support
(Can't find a link, it's on my professor's website. He got it from the New York Times 7-22-07)
And he who forgets, will be destined to remember...
Thanks, I think NZ would be roughly the same, except for the atheist, where we generally don't care. Helen Clarke (a woman, believe it or not) is an atheist and no one cares.
I'm surprised a muslim would receive more support than an atheist, based on just the above criterion.
please ignore me when I don't play by the rules
G) A Croatian American
H) Someone who grew up in Poverty and Homeless
J) Crohn's disease, surgery at 21. Lost 5.5ft of small bowel + 2.5ft of colon
K) ucinich Never sold out
