Facing Nothingness

Let's assume that this life is in fact, nothing, in the scheme of things. What humans truly face is nothingness. At best, Life is What You Make It. Or perhaps more accurately, life is what you make it, for yourself.
To move forward into this future, what do you define as your "life"? Is your great-great-great-great- grandmother you know nothing about as dead as a rock, or do you have some idea that the universe and this Earth is somehow involved in your own personal history?

A: I'll answer that.
Q: Well, go ahead there, young man.
A: I've been particularly interested in the value-system that FFG has held with a stronghold, within his ideals.
Q: Yes?
A: Well, it's a discipline, of what he speaks.
Q: So?
A: Anyone can have discipline.
Q: Go on.
A: Pretty much anyone can adopt a discipline of mind and thought, but thought itself is only a fragment of this existence. I mean, we all have to experience new things to feel...just to feel, you know?
Q: I've got an idea, yes. What's this got to do with a value-system?
A: Value systems change with the times. "Value" itself is never a constant, and it certainly isn't a market.
Q: That's true, I think.
