I think a Patriot is...

    A person who cares enough about their country to stand up for the principles that make it great along side criticizing the things about it that need changing... caring enough to see the flaws and want to fix them instead of blindly cheerleading and bragging.

    excellent. i would carry it a little farther by saying that it's a person who loves their country above others, and feels obligated to protect it and to endeavour to make it better...

    patriotism is the last refuge of a nationalist...its a copout, an excuse to do all sorts of terrible things in the name of your country. its an outdated concept thats time has come, imo.

    I think a Patriot is...

    One who works to improve the living conditions and lives of the people of his/her country and defends his/her country against all threats (including a dangerous, oppressive and intrusive Political group/Religious group/or Goverment ); which undermine, or ignore, or attempt to destroy the Constitution of one's country.
