Now, before you laugh and make fun of these folks consider first the passion they have for their beliefs.
Taking an evergreen tree, putting it in your house, decorating it with lights, sitting in the dark, and adoring it to Christmas carols is spiritual adultery. You profess to love Jesus, but you do so with the mementos and techniques of other lovers – the world and pagan religion. You are not content with Christ's pure gospel – for it has no Mass of Christ. You have added the world's seductions to keep you happy in your marriage to Christ. He is highly offended at your whorish ways.

No thanks. They do have a point about the idolatry that tends to be a part of the season, but to assert that the entire season is "spiritual adultery" is only slightly ridiculous.
I wonder if this church only meets in underground meetings and keeps it small, since that's Scriptural, and any other manifestation of "church" would be non-Scriptural and against their logic.
In regard to the passion they display, itself; it seems so rooted in fidelity, and I see a huge similiarity in this respect to the Pearl Jam crowd.

Hehee. Well, I suppose I'm a liberal, if I need a label. I don't consider myself passionately faithful to anyone or anything.
I think this passion crosses all political boundaries, though.

I just find it kind of ironic that this religious organization's arguments against the modern Christmas so strongly resembles those of many non-believers here on the board. I also know Christmas is over now, but another thing I find parallel to this particualr brand of Christians and many Pearl Jam fans is how they wear their emotions, and their beliefs on their sleeves.

aren't the quotes loosely dealing w/ homosexuality from the old testament? doesn't stop them from pushing that, does it?

This group, from what I've read so far, aren't pushing anything on anyone. They have a website for their church, and that's about it. It states openly and in detail about what they believe, and to hell with anyone else. I don't have a problem with this at all.

To say that you have just the one objection impresses me more to mean that these Christians did their homework. As for the objection, I only read a little bit more than you, at the their website, so if you take the time I'm sure you can find the lineage of their logic.
