That's right Jackson Browne you've got to put these big shots in their place same for John Mellencamp.

    Peace

  • I just don't understand why the McCain camp thought they could just use someone's song in an ad without permission.

Come on McCain at least ask to use an American loving song like Born In The USA like Reagan did. Show the youth that you are in tune with what is really going on in your country.
You've changed your place in this world!

tis a no-brainer. you use someone else's property without permission, you get sued. whether he sues mccain or the Ohio Republican Party - as the article mentions being 'responsible' for the ad. pretty damn stupid if you ask me. you KNOW you can't just use other people's intellectual property. how idiotic.
    Stay with me...
    Let's just breathe...

I am myself like you somehow

  • Its because the Republican spin machine has largely been held unaccountable for their actions since the 70's.

More Democrats need to stand against against the lies.

When there's no one to hold you accountable, you think you can say or do anything you please.

The Dems don't want to be held accountable either but they still need their comeupance from the Clinton blow job.

Come on... more Dems need to get a spine.

I think this happened when David Duke used a Bryan Adams song. I don't think he sued though. My memory is that he tried to pull all the CDs off of the shelves in Louisiana...sort of an attempt to show his disassociation with Duke.

Truthbetold, I do not know what the laws are, but you would think any candidate would run it by the artist just to avoid bad press when the not-like-minded artist gets upset.
I cannot come up with a new sig till I get this egg off my face.

This quote from that article just goes to show how lame the Republican party is:

"Right-leaning pop musicians can be hard to come by, leaving few safe choices for Republicans on the campaign trail. Political Machine points out a few GOP-friendly stars whose songs could possibly be cued up without objection: Donny Osmond, Ted Nugent, Gene Simmons, Kid Rock and Wayne Newton."
    Rock on!

Why because he beat up Darryl Hannah in the 80's?
