If we could reduce the actual population of the planet to a 100 people village, maintaining the corresponding existing percentages, we would have these amazing results:

57 would be Asian
21 would be European
14 would be American and Latin American
8 would be African

52 would be women
48 would be men

30 would be from white race
70 would be from any other race

30 would be Christian
70 would be of some other religion

89 would be heterosexual
11 would be homosexual

6 people would own 59% of the entire world wealth and
this 6 people would be from the USA

80 would live in inadequate homes
70 would not be able to read and write
50 would be starved
1 would be dying and 1 would be born
1 (yeah, just one) would have superior education (a career)
1 would own a computer

It's so sad!
When we analyze our world from this compressed perspective, I think we all can understand the need to be tolerant, to understand and to educate people becomes overwhelmingly amazing.

    Interesting statistics....interesting post.

  • Wait a sec...only 1 would own a computer?

What about those 6 who own 59% of the wealth. They would all own computers. :D
Progress is not made by everyone joining some new fad,
and reveling in it's loyalty. It's made by forming coalitions
over specific principles, goals, and policies.

If we had that many computers, we could teach everyone left, and they'd all have a superior education!

  • That'd be great. But there are NOT only 100 people in the world, and the 59% wealth americans don't usually hang around throwing their money in the air and waiting to see who catches it, do they? If only everybody who can do something actually DID the said so something, wow. That would be great.
