Vote Obama on Saturday!

We need to keep this momentum--he has to win the vast majority of states from here on out or else the super delegates will put Hillary over the top.

  • Please God, Vote Obama. Idaho did it's part.

    Cmon neighbors!
Love is more important to me than faith.
  • I have good feelings about the upcoming states... smaller states and caucus states are where Obama is at his best.

Hell, if us Southern red-necks in Alabama can vote for Obama.....I'm sure all them enlightened peoples in Washington state can do the same. :)

  • He is favored heavily for the next 3 weeks. However, if Clinton wins any of those she can pick up a lot of momentum by winning a state she wasn't supposed to.

Usually statewide officials and members of Congress...
  • I've never caucused in my life. I'm nervous as hell about it.

Don't be nervous. Just go stand where all the Obama people are and you won't get hurt.

:) I honestly feel like the biggest dork because I haven't a clue what happens there. Do people try to get you to change your vote? Do I have to talk to other people to pursuade them to change theirs? Do you kind of do a voting type thingy?

Since you're voting in a Dem primary you won't have to worry about the Paultard there trying to "educate" you into switching. It's pretty civil. People respect that if you're there, you've made up your mind.
  • The Seattle Times mentioned that last night Obama's campaign said he would be in Seattle on Friday. Anyone know any details on that?

You'll need to find out where your caucus is being held. They start at 1pm on Saturday. They typically aren't in the normal polling place, so don't just head there. You'll be in a room possibly with other precincts to start, but you'll split into precincts for the actual ballots. People will definitely be trying to persuade you to vote for their candidate. Once ballots have been counted and delegates elected to the county convention you're done.

We've looked into where our precinct caucus is. So, we have that dialed in.

Thanks for your information! I'm less nervous about it than I was 5 minutes ago.

And the rest of you with your "Paultard" and "cookies" are funny. You make me laugh! :)

Number18, I heard he was coming to Seattle as well, but on the Obama website there is nothing mentioned yet. I get updates from them all the time. If I hear of anything, I'll post it here.

    another caucus virgin checking in

I did find this clip to kinda explain the democrats caucus thing-doo for Washington. http://www.wa-democrats.org/caucusinfo

my biggest concern was that a person had to be registered as a democrat to participate. apparently you don't, which is good cause i'm not. just when you sign in you have to state then for this caucus you will be choosing a democrat

I'm much more excited about this than nervous

    :)

  • Obama will win Washington. I am fairly certain of that. Not a lot of Hilary supporters that I know. But I'm a Republican so I don't really care. McCain will take the Republican side.

I think that's someone who dresses in tights and then fly's around giving people his or her work to do.

I know what you mean. I would just pretty much stand there and let it fall on deaf ears. :) I'm just not in the mood for someone making a last ditch effort at me. Its Saturday for goodness sake. Last thing I need is someone trying to get on my ass about something on a freaking weekend. Plus considering I've had my mind made up for some time. Its not like some person I've never met before is going to change my mind with some big revelation.

haha....as of this morning it was only going to be Bill heading for Seattle, now it looks like when Hilary found out that Obama is heading here (as was announced last night) she figured that she might have to actually show up and speak herself....who wants to bet that if not more than a few dozen people show up tomorrow she sheds tears? oh hell, she'll probably just cry anyway

Just to show she's "human". Newbie to the whole caucus thing too. After hearing all the commercials saying the caucus counts and the ballot doesn't really matter I figured I better show up. So what's the point of having a ballot? I don't understand.

but that's the whole point...she's NOT human :p

the reason for primary ballot is because the republicans get half of their delegates from the caucuses and half from the primary. but yeah since the democrats get their delegates from just the caucuses, my guess is that the reason behind the primary is because the democratic party in WA just likes spending $10 million for conducting a meaningless popularity contest?

  • Godspeed my northwestern brothers and sisters. I promise that if this shit actually goes on until May (fat chance, I think this will be over after Texas and Ohio) that we'll do our part down here.
