Does the media have to make such a big deal of...

I'm watching the local news right now, and a judge was arrested for drunk driving. Not good, right? Well instead of focusing on how this judge broke the law, they are focusing on the fact that when he was arrested, he was dressed in drag and had been drinking in a gay bar. Like seriously, that's his business. I don't feel bad for this guy since he got arrested for drunk driving and he's a judge on top of it, but to have his whole personal life basically just be mocked on the news is really sad.

if you want in depth and more complex stories
read a news magazine or newspaper.
they care more about ratings and numbers
    than the actual story.

I don't see what the big deal is either....I mean no one makes a fuss when he along with every other judge wears a dress in court.

now embarass a person for drunk driving...that's fine

What the big deal... he's already in a long flowing robe? just let the man accessorize in peace!
  • It's easy, lazy journalism... unfortunately that's what the american people seem to eat up.

They could choose to do some research into how he ruled on DUI cases over the years (if he is a criminal judge) and make a story about hypocrisy or something, but it's much easier to just go on TV and make fun of his personal life.

once being a journalism major(no one wanted the truth so i switched)... everything is spoon fed hersay information... but hell, its just easier to fun of people while we are at it... cause it would be just to hard to find a real story about real serious issues... i agree
