On April 28th a series of protests are scheduled throughout the nation to support Congressman Dennis Kucinich who is introducing articles of impeachment against Vice President Dick Cheney. This will hopefully lead to articles of impeachment being introduced against George W. Bush. Both George W. Bush and Dick Cheney have lied to the nation and have violated several treaties which is illegal under the United States Constitution. Crimes included leading our nation into a war under knowingly false pretenses, aggressively pursing war against another sovereign nation, spying on its own citizens in open violation of the law and sanctioning the use of torture. So it is our job as concerned citizens of this great nation to support Congressman Kucinich on April 28th by showing up and having our voice finally heard as patriots of America. If you are unable to attend, I urge you to send letters of support to Congressman Kucinich and other members of Congress, so that we will finally be free from tyranny from our own leaders. • About 3 or 4 years too late. By the time all the legal bullshit gets sorted out, Bush will be gone.

  • This is true but hope is a terrible thing to waste and if nothing happens out of this hopefully this will make Ol' George realize he has to shape up instead of ruiling like a dictator.
  • yeah, you could protest with the rest of the old school hippies. OR do something constructive with your time. the choice is yours.
  • I believe it was Studs Terkel who wrote a book called "Hope Dies Last" and I still have hope that the American people will realize that we have the power to make changes. However, we only have the power to make changes if we choose to. This is the point that I am trying to get across. I'm hoping that we, the people that live in a democratic society, will finally start realizing that we are the ones that should be dictating the direction of our country; not a few individuals. Maybe it is a lost cause, but also maybe it isn't. There was a time in this country when the people were not scared to stand up and voice their oponion when they knew something wasn't right. There was a time when the people could make a difference and we can still make a difference. However, we won't unless we try and I still believe that there are people in this world that can make a difference. And my hope will die last with those people before I believe that we can no longer make a difference in the country we live in.

I guess an 'I want it now' mentality is okay if the thing you want is for people to stop dying in an illegal war. If impeaching them makes that closer to happening, then yes I want it now.

    Thanks, OysterJelly :)

There's an event near my house. If I'm well enough I'll be there, and I'm sure my kids will both go, with or without me.

this protest may make future presidents think before they shoot......and for me to further show those that supported this administration and its policies to think a little deeper next time around before we give a president a blank check. I do realize this will be difficult for those that supported Bush and company...but its the right thing to do.

it's not going to change anyones mind, it's not going to make a lick of difference in how future presidents make decisions. my opinion (which i know most of you will completely discard)...it's a complete waste of time.

but hey, if it gets your rocks off, have at it.

You are hereby charged with attempted murder. The victim? Democracy.

Protests do make differences and holding people accountable for their actions does encourage a peaceful and lawful society.

Letting people commit heinous crimes and not doing anything about it is in and of itself a horrifying. But saying that "it's not going to make a lick of difference" is truly saddening.

  • my god the apathy on this chain is appalling. - let's stop before we even try??? jeeeeeeeesh.

look, any time a group gets together to speak their mind regardless of the size or the eventual outcome - if you agree with their ideas JOIN them!

from the beginning this "war" was a horrible idea...and it sluggishly moves onward and it feels like we can't stop it and it feels dark and scary and overwhelming but when you see a sign or hear a protest sound JOIN it!!

I can't imagine a better way of spending my time...
