he hasnt been allowed at the debates since he called out hillary clinton back in october jlew24asu

this is the point of the thread...he passes all of CNNs criteria and than back in october they created the ''must have 1 million dollars raised to debate'' just to exclude him and only him... you dont think this is crazy???

a guy somehow has visited each state...some states 10 times since 2006 on less than a million dollars and they exclude him from the debates...

its backwards jlew... no one is talking about being held down by the man guys... its being held down by a corporation that endorses candidates.. the reason Mike Gravel isnt at these debates is because he has real ideas for change and corporations dont want change inside of an economy where the rich get filthy rich...

cant argue with the truth boy.

he would clean house if he was in those debates...thats why hes not invited.

who cares...you arent running for president... there are 3 candidates in the race, but one gets told hes not allowed in to debate.

have you watched a debate with gravel in it?

a million dollars is more then fair. there is a reason why he cant raise money. because no one will vote for him. he is irrelevant. get over it.

yea, that has to be the reason.

he's getting votes with absolutely no media coverage...they wont let him in the debates jlew...people havent heard of him still... jlew... you know who Hillary Clinton is??? Do you know who Mitt Romney is??? You think these people would be getting votes if they didnt have millions of dollars to spend from corporation donations??

    how is Mike Gravel irrelevant???

you are missing the whole idea...its unbelievable you cant read things and ideas and realize whats going on... ITS NOT TEH FACT THAT THEY MADE A NEW LAW WITHIN THERE MEDIA THAT YOU HAVE TO RAISE 1 MILLION DOLLARS...

they were trying to exclude him JLEW... they would have added anything to exclude him... if he took money from corporations they would of found something else to hold him out JLEW

is that a hard concept or lemme guess...

you disagree... CNN's last minute add-on to keep Gravel out happened to be a coincidence????

Yes, CNN was trying to exclude him. I don't think they excluded him because of his views, but because he had no chance of winning. Whether there are nine people on stage or four, there are still too many people at a debate. You gotta have a cut line, and if Gravel makes the cut, then there is no cut line. At this point, do you want to hear Clinton, Obama, and Gravel debate? I wouldn't want to hear any of them, but the point about the debates is to learn about the candidates people are going to vote for, not for someone to throw their ideas into the ring just for the hell of it. There are places for that in the earlier debates, but at some point you got to prove yourself. If you keep getting 2% of the vote when you've been in 5 debates, it is time to move on to something else. He didn't, and CNN did what it should do.

    WRONG BOOTLEGGER

NO ONE VOTED ON ANYTHING IN OCTOBER 2007

you must be referring to the medias opinion poll and online statistics.

    and let me inform you

Mike Gravel is running for President... just like Obama... and for the record...when it comes to records and history...Barack cant even stand int he same room.

You are brainwashed and its proof in that reply... NO ONE VOTED IN OCTOBER

Television "debates" are useless anyway... You can't back up unconventional idealogy in the 2 minutes or so you have to respond. Its a form of censorship-to be MORE effective they should allow dissenters a television spot...they would look rediculous without time to bakc up their statements.

That's the beauty of mainstream TV, there's only room to regurgitate conventional thought.
  • could i get into a debate if i were running for president and had a few thousand dollars?

    i have some good ideas.

Yeah. Basically, everybody just recites their bumper sticker slogans for half an hour.

And that's true of mainstream "news" in general. so much for a free press.
