If Obama wins he has stated his intentions are to redeply troops from Iraq to other sectors of the Middle East.

Does anyone know what sectors?

Does anyone know if there is an Oil pipeline being built from Iraq to Israel?

If there is, Who is going to be left with the task of defending it?


I do not know the answers to these and have been thinking about them for sometime.. rumor has it that Israel will be relied upon to defend this Pipeline.


If this is the case, will Iran allow them to do this?

Could this be the spark that starts WWIII?

i think iran will allow isreal to do so because they know if they mess with isreal they are going to get the US military for dessert.

i think what may be the start of world war III is what is going on with kosovo. they declared independance and now the serbs and russia are angry about it. if there is a "revolutionary war" there and the US meddles in that, like we always feel the need to do, then russia and maybe china are going to jump in and there you have it. the mother of all wars.

My guess would be some combination of Syria\Turkey\Iran\Northern Iraq ...

the best hope for a pipeline (that they see at this point) is west across Syria (yes, Syria) and down near Israel and out to the Mediterranean.

I think one plan was to have it go out Northern Iraq and ABOVE Syria, through Turkey and out to sea ... but the combination of Turkey not being the greatest ally these days, combined with getting too close to Iran near the Kurdish insurections, etc ... think they'd rather just bribe the shit out of Syria and run it straight west out of Iraq, and on through Syria off to Israel and the sea.

Obama will also probably try to finagle troops back in to Afghanistan if there is any political good will left between us and Musharraf ... The US military would just LOVE to have a launch pad in to china and the former Soviet states if the time came for that type of thing.

There's massive pipeline work being done in Libya. That's why Muamar had to backtrack on the whole "terrorism" thing. Libya's sitting on a massive oil field, but they don't have the brains or the tech to do anything with it. So the U.S. is cooperating with Libya for the oil.
