Is anyone else disturbed by this trial. And although i believe Hussein may not have been the best leader in the world, or history.. but he shouldn't have such an unfair trial (being a leader and all).

Sounds like the head judge is biased, members of the court are being threatened and killed, he is being judged by some of those he oppressed, his repeated outburts are making a mockery of the trial. It's a zoo there. No way is it fair, he should have been tried in the Hague

thats true. I'm surprised he's not in the hague. how is he expected to get a fair trial in baghdad? take him to a neutral place and put him on trail like other war criminals. result will be the same

Would have been no different...take a look Milosavec and the whole Kosovo issue at the Hague...that was a mockery....he was pretty much holding court on a daily basis just running his mouth...well until someone shut him up permanently that is....
  • Saddam is a piece of garbage - we all know that.

    HOWEVER,
what gives the US/GWB the right to invade Iraq?
What gives us the right to overthrow their government?

Also, somebody said he should be trialed for war crimes.. I agree, but should Bush be trialed for attacking the palace of baghdad in attempt to kill the leader. Which ''FACT'' is a war crime.. you can't attempt to assasinate a soverign leader.
  • I think how the trial is run is up to the Iraqis. If they want to try him in Baghdad, then that's what should happen.

do you think the kurds.. who although lived technically in iraq ( outskirts away from the civilized city )... should be involved in the trial?
  • Unless you were some part of the attrocities that the Kurds experienced at the hands of this guy, how you can anyone seriously sit here and debate
why/where this trial should take place and how it does?
    I'll keep taking punches
    Untill their will grows tired
  • The Iraqis insisted on trying him there, and the U.S. acquiesed. Probably not the greatest idea.
