The bonus culture

Recently I watched aprogramme on the TV about the "Bonus Culture". Sorry I can't remember what it was. They interviewed various experts, ex traders and the governor of the Bank of England. The bonus culture was being accused of creating the hideous financial mess we are in now. Ex employees were stating that they didn't care about their basic wage because everything was geared to the "bonus", resulting in irresponsible gambling and products and loans being sold to people that couldn't afford them.
Perhaps it's time to try and find the people that sold products purely for their own financial gain and make them pay the bonuses back.
While many are suffering in these times (lost homes, lost jobs) these characters can sit back and laugh at the personal loss of others.
