shouldnt it be midtown north-west? lol

nypd has to break it up with bogus names

i guess. i know the midtown south one is right near the garden but does anyone really think of 30th street and seventh avenue as south?

Thanks. I am aware of biddingfortravel.com and the various bidding strategies that are available to use. That site is good for reference but not enough people post their winning bids on it to really provide good enough bidding assistance.

I guess for MSG, Midtown South would be the best region?

$195 isn't terrible for NYC, but I was hoping to get a little better deal than that :)

I wouldnt worry about where you are in the city as long as you are south of 96th or so. The city is very easy to get around cabs or subways. Perhaps the west side might be good so you can avoid having to travel cross-towwn which can be a bitch in the afternoons.

Midtown is where the business travelers stay, weekdays there will be more than more than other parts of the city. Dont limit yourself to midtown and more options might open up.

this placve always seems to be under renovations.

    moldy, yucky , stuffy.

be prepared for an olfactory nightmare !

    STAY AWAY !

walk the extra 3 or 4 blocks-

youll be glad you did- trust me !

  • Dont worry about being close. You can cab or subway from anywhere and hotels near MSG are crap anyway - worn down from such high volume from MSG shows, sporting events and the like.

Hotel Penn DOES had bedbugs so avoid.

My buddy and I got the Milford Plaza Hotel on 44th for 130 a night , last week, using Priceline. I think it is a 2 and a half star. Got some decent reviews. But the bottom line is that its better than anything else you can get for 130 a night regular.

You can definitely get better deals the closer to the date, but it is also tougher. We booked a cheapie (Latham Hotel) that we could cancel in case, and then went the priceline route. But we also didnt want to wait too long so we wouldn't get stuck with Latham (no offense to anyone staying at Latham...I've heard it is an ok spot for the price)

Going from Halifax as well. We booked the Best Western President @ $189.99 a night. I haven't heard it mentioned much on here. Leading me to wonder if it's a dump or something. A place to crash for a few days anyway.

That's a crazy good rate for there. It's in a good location, just up the road from Times Square, and just south of Central Park. I know someone who stayed there, and it was a good stay. Did you get this rate through Priceline, or straight up?? I recall that my friends paid almost 300 a night when they stayed there.

Depends on the room I guess.
