I know that this isnt constructive at all but sometimes i just wonder about people. If we are such an "evil empire" leave the country. Because no matter who is the next president some shit will stay the same.
I can gaurantee you one thing those numbers are going to increase for a Looooonnnnnnggggg time to come.
Peace

*The scientists of today think deeply instead of clearly. One must be sane to think clearly, but one can think deeply and be quite INSANE*....Nikola Tesla(a man who shaped our world of electricity with his futuristic inventions)
Our government is the potent, the omnipresent teacher. For good or for ill, it teaches the whole people by its example. Crime is contagious. If the government becomes a law-breaker, it breeds contempt for law; it invites every man to become a law unto himself; it invites anarchy. - Louis Brandeis
this is so ignorant ... "love it or leave it" .... c'mon ... you want us all to be blind sheeple, and believe everything your told, and not question your leaders when you think they've done you wrong?
than again, if you're going to quote revenge of the nerds, kind of expected.
"I don't believe in damn curses. Wake up the damn Bambino and have me face him. Maybe I'll drill him in the ass." --- Pedro Martinez
I have rode the rollercoaster of hate, fear and pity all I want.
I will never forget 9-11 and those that acted so heroically that day but I can no longer service it emotionally....
and now a word from our sponsors
I dont want people to be blind sheep at all. It just seems that people care more about the sick, dead that are in other countries and not our own.
And i agree using a Revenge of the Nerds reference was poor on my part, i was trying to interject some humor.
“Patriotism is your conviction that this country is superior to all others because you were born in it.” William Shakespeare

What does the THEM figure represent, exactly? I find it impressive that you've got it down that precise, though ...
I know that one out of every eight children under the age of twelve in the U.S. goes to bed hungry every night.
Obviously two of the most brilliant minds in history.
Call it patriotism if you want, but i think if you are a citizen of the United States you would want your country to be the best it can be. Such as helping the sick, homeless etc..
For instance Oprah made that girl school in Africa. Dont you think that maybe that money should have been used to teach the less fortunate of this country?
I have no problem donateing and helping out other countries, I just feel if you are an american then the well being of the u.s. should come first & if you are japanese then japan comes first & so on & so on.
So when you don't agree with your country because you think it sucks and doesn't do shit to help its people, you tell them to leave?
I don't get that.
Anyway... America and the Western world are rich. A lot of countries have social programs for the poor. Even the poorest people of the state can get into school, at least I hope so.
Many African countries don't have schools, not enough anyway. People starve and die on the streets, they don't have medication, they don't have access to a doctor...
I guess my point is the well being of everyone comes first with me. It doesn't matter what the nationality is... people in need are people in need.

I'd agree to a point. People in Africa and other places that experience war, famine, natural disasters, and other atrocities need and should get whatever help that we can afford to give them only if it doesn't come at the expense of people suffering here.
That also being said there are many people in this country that think they are entitled to hand-outs and that they are owed something. A majority of these people are able bodied but refuse to work. They are poor for a reason, because they are lazy. No other country on this planet gives one the opportunities to succeed as the USA. Yet I've seen it time and time again, certain people going grocery shopping, loading up two carts, paying with a LINK (foodstamp) debit card, and loading up the food in their Navigators. That is what needs to stop so we are able to help people that actually do need it.
