If anything I hope it raises at least some awareness. Ron Paul looking rather sharp in that clip.

Progress is not made by everyone joining some new fad,
and reveling in it's loyalty. It's made by forming coalitions
over specific principles, goals, and policies.

If you do nothing else, do this.
If there is one thing i've learned from the actuality of this financial clusterfuck (as opposed to the time period before the "crash" where those of us in fear of such a scenario were derided as lunatics) ...
... that one thing would be that MOST of the people
a. really don't understand dick about how our system of "money" actually functions
and
b. those that do largely do not seem to give a fuck.
Beyond that,
i've noticed, on this board in particular, that most would rather sit around and piss and moan about partisan bullshit, than to focus for a single second on the more pressing and dire nature of the ENTIRE economic-political system we have been collectively duped in to accepting.
Blame Bush, blame Greenspan, blame Clinton, blame the public for having too much credit debt, blame idiots for taking subprime loans ... BUT GOD FORBID ANYONE CONCLUDE THAT THE FAULT LAY PRIMARLY IN A BOGUS SYSTEM FORCED UPON THE PEOPLE IN THE LAST GREAT CRISIS BY EXACTLY THE SAME SCUMBAG INTERESTS THAT NOW OWN AND RUN JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING.
I could post the great list of quotes from presidents past about the scandalous nature of our banking system and the conspiratorial underbelly of "our" government , but it would get us nowhere.
I am of the firm opinion that 90% (or more) of the American public would rather believe in the false Right\Left paradigm and be deluded in to the happy state of oblivion that it accords, than to ever even dream of facing the more bleak reality that both are merely two sides of the same counterfeit coin.
I witness it by the day with my political-idiot best friend & roommate, who everyday through this election has been giddy with joy that "the democrats are back".
Just yesterday he shrieked in the car as some DJ came on talking about Obama , "Dude! This is so fucking awesome. THINGS ARE GOING TO CHANGE! The Democrats are going to fix this country and change the whole mood of the nation."
BULLSHIT.
I roll my eyes at him endlessly.
Even after repeated conversations with me about the finer points of how the system is rigged in favor of THEM and not US ... and that it has little to nothing to do with Democrat\Republican ... all his simple brain can muster up is the (quite frankly BIGOTED) notion that "REPUBLICANS REALLY ARE JUST STUPID" and "Democrats are awesome."
And that, i truly believe, is the average political intellect of the nation.
If to conquer and divide is the way to tyranny, the tyrants are WELL on their way.
:(
If I opened it now would you not understand?
hah. sounds like the last South Park episode.
Why do people have to know about the FED? That's Obama's job....he'll take care of it.
Besides...the latest TV show is on!

That would put "The Rebellion" in no better moral standing than the tyrants themselves.
“The first sign of corruption in a society that is still alive is that the end justifies the means” - Georges Bernanos
It is that mode of thought that almost destroyed the more dignified efforts of The Sons of Liberty in the years leading up to the revolution. The notion that truth, justice, and an honest account of history (i'm speaking here in particular about the "Boston Massacre" and the horribly innacurate account that The Sons supported) are SECONDARY to the end goals a noble cause is not a notion to which i subscribe.
Maybe the effort is a futile one, but it is the only way in which the true liberty of our society will be restored. The people MUST not only regain the ability to think criticaly about such matters, but must also re learn how to communicate and cooperate effectively with eachother in pursuit of such causes.
If I opened it now would you not understand?
You think there would be automatic coming together with a situation like the FED.
It's a phenomena I can't yet account for in the psyche of mankind.

Sometimes when i get really down about the lack of understading regarding our monetary woes, i think back to this day in November, last year.
The dollar was sick, inflation expectations were through the roof, Bernanke was being dragged before congress, and Ron Paul had just given him a thorough grilling.
The very fact that a bunch of capitalist pig (half-joke) floor traders at the CME were cheering Ron Paul's attacks against Bernanke's very clearly propagandistic and rhetorical responses remains a beacon of hope in my heart.
To me it shows that there is, at least on some level, a very real recognition with the younger generation of financial professionals that there is something sick and unsustainable with our monetary policy.
