interesting. maybe instead of sitting home googling ron paul and watching his youtube vids, those same people should have got off of their asses, turned off their computers, had a shower, gone outside and voted for him.

if you believe in something or someone, why would you need the media to remind you of how awesome your candidate is. you either like them or not and you make your own choice.

how do you know they didn't?? the point of the video was the mainstream media coverage compared to interest...the mainstream media is far more biased to the corporate approved candidates and everyone else gets a disproportionate amount of coverage

it wasn't just about youtube videos, it was also google searches.

i swallowed his facade cos i'm so
    eager to identify with
    someone above the crowd
someone who seemed to feel the same
someone prepared to lead the way

I understand that Kabong. My point is he only got, on average, between 2% and 10% of the vote in most states. That doesn't reflect what was being said in the youtube clip that roland posted. According to that he should have done much better based on the interest that there was in him.

Maybe i'm missing something? Not being sarcastic.

I do agree with this Kabong. But people were clearly interested in Ron Paul. Interested enough to google and watch youtube videos much more than the other candidates.

for one thing it depends on the state if you can even vote for ron paul or not. some states you have to be a republican to vote in the republican primary.

also, google and youtube is world wide, primaries are broken up and media coverage goes a long way especially towards to ppl who don't bother to go further than network news coverage. they are bombarded w/ more corporate friendly candidates instead and if they see any coverage of someone like ron paul or nader or kucinich most of the time it's to put them down in some way.

i'm sure a lot of the ppl putting things on youtube and elsewhere do go and vote for those ppl whereas a lot of the ppl voting for the mainstream corporate candidates go no further than cnn or somewhere like it

then they should have more media coverage than the do especially compared to other candidates who have less of a following

The same can be said about Kucinich and Nader. Lots of people are interested in them and support them way more than the candidate they actually vote for. Their reasoning however is "he would never win." In the end though he would never win because these people don't have the balls to just get up and vote for him. People keep letting the media choose their candidates, which means they choose the same candidates that corporates approve of... if people would just vote for who they want instead of the "lesser evil" or whatever, it would atleast finally be a return to some form of actual democracy, nevermind that you are also finally voting for what you think is right.

Actually I can't argue with that logic, and yes you make a good point. Something isn't adding up.
