Progress is not made by everyone joining some new fad,
and reveling in it's loyalty. It's made by forming coalitions
over specific principles, goals, and policies.

I thought that these owners have no mortgage after they get a new home. That they just have to pay taxes. And this story mentioned that the family used the house as collateral on a $450,000 loan??? I can only imagine what that loan was for, these families are not the brightest...

I watch this show sometimes (they do some cool construction stuff). Sometimes they pay the families mortgage sometimes they don't. Either way there are a lot of times when the families don't have much income (whether because of a disabled family member or whatever). So a lot of times it is crazy how they give a family with not very much money like a 10,000 square foot mansion. How exactly do they expect these people to pay for things like utilities and property taxes (especailly when their homes like double or triple in value or more)?

    HA!

sad to say but you're probably right.
i will NEVER understand the love for reality shows nor the multitude of variety of them. wtf? i have 'reality' every day. most definitely not what i want in a tv program. then again, i am not the demogrphic they go for as i don't watch tv. :p haha. then again, all the BS they started putting ON tv is why i turned it OFF.
    Stay with me...

So they use the gift to finance a failed business...nice work.

    Fool me once....

A perfect example of how hand-outs often don't work and aren't the solution to a problem.

i am tired of people thinking Americans are stupid and unelightened... it really is quite cliche at this point... have you ever even been to America?
  • What I don't understand is they borrowed the total value of the house to start a construction company. Their last house was in such sorry shape that a TV show had to tear it down and build another one. It doesn't sound like they were very handy with a hammer, maybe construction wasn't the right industry to try.

I'm tired of witnessing the actuality of said problem and I live in America.

Yes, and everyone is stupid and unenlightened of course.
