So he's 17 yrs old, a boy scout counselor, and he hangs a stray dog for kicks.

Dir. is making excuses, saying dog was sic & boys were putting him out of his misery." (The director told NEWSWEEK only that a stray dog was "put down" and that the counselors were fired for violating the Scout credo to be "kind.")"

    i love when family members screw things up for prospective candidates. it happens every campaign, everyone in the campaign is so cautious not to make a mistake and its the child that blows the whole thing :) i would like to have heard what the gov said to his son in private....."if you fuck this up for me you are losing the trust fund, so help me...." lol....

    I guess Huckabee is winning or something, because this is when thier dirt starts surfacing.....

    All of this information is worthless, I don't care what his kid did, All of these people are dirty, all of them have skeletons just like everyone else....I care about.... what are they going to do on taxes, health care, social security, governmental size and scope, the military... etc etc etc.

    I don't give a shit what someones kid did or if they have a black child or how much of a hypocrite they are regarding thier religion. That's all a bunch of trumped up hooey.... (just like the vast majority of public displays of religion)

    I care about why you want the job, what you think the job entails and what the hell you are going to do when you get there.

    I am voting for Ron Paul and don't know much about Huckabee, but I'm also not sure why this kid's heinous deed has anything to do with who i vote for (unless Mr. Huckabee applauded this behavior).

    meh....

    while it is a terrible thing for someone to do, you really can't hold it against Huckabee. People's kids do stupid things, that sometimes reflect how they were raised, but most of the time they don't.

    This is nothing compared to Huckabee being a Baptist Minister (or was?) ..if that doesn't scare the hell out of you...I don't know what will....my biggest fear is majority of americans will vote for him over Hilliary or Obama..and become president...how fked would that be.....chilling.

    Ohio Governer (and former State Representative) Ted Strickland was also a minister. He is also very liberal on most issues and is a Democrat.

    Guess I should have clarified...and your right I shouldn't bundle folks but he has stated his intolerance, is proud of it..and his campaining on the benefits of church co-mingling on state and is proud to scream at the top of his lungs how he's a christian. He uses his position of being a man of god to win votes rather than on his merit....also heard him say this on one of his campaign speaches....."its harder for you to board a plane in your home town than it is for an illegal immigrant to come to this country" this is just plain ignorant and plays on ignorant people for their votes...again chills me to think this guy may be president...heck may be worse than W that used same strategy. Unfortunately many will vote for him solely on his religious convictions.....and I feel solely to justify, rationalize and legitimize their beliefs. Again that's how W punked us.

    As far as this thread....since the son was brought up in a family values, good christian home....is it not okay to at least contemplate how this home wastn't so rosey.....I have lots of freinds...most not in such a wonderfully noursihing environment that would never think to torture and kill a dog.

    It's cool; I dont' know much about the Texas state reps/government either. :) Governer Ted Strickland believes both to be "wrong" personally but vocally advocates the right for both gay marriage & abortion.
