The upcoming trial represents the continuation of the vicious persecution of Omar Khadr that has gone on for nearly six years. Now 21, he has spent more than a quarter of his life in US detention, much of it while being subjected to solitary confinement, sensory deprivation, abusive interrogations and outright torture. Throughout this time, he has been denied education or any regular access to his family.

I'm thinking no... They are probably the only humans alive who can bring White Castle to Cuba. If ever there was a bonus to the circumstances...

Its going to end up like the terrorists in the U.S.S. Cole attack. They either all escaped or were released and have committed more attacks since.

One less of em and we're better off

Depends what you mean by 'Terrorist'. It also depends what you mean by 'we'.
Perhaps by 'we' you mean all white people? Or maybe you mean Americans? Or perhaps you mean those who don't commit acts of terror, and who don't support terrorism and terrorist states, In which case every tax paying American is guilty by association? Hmm, I wonder what you can possiby mean?

omar khadr is screwed cuz of who he is related to and where he was that fateful day ... there is no evidence to convict him of anything that would hold up in a normal court of law ...

but this is the america here and they aren't about to have someone like that set free for any reason ... justice similar to democracy are only catch phrases ...

We as the people who have been targeted in the World Trade center twice, or the London subway bombings, or the madrid train bombing, no matter where it is Here, over in Europe or middle east or in the Pacific, "we"(as i hope you are not one of them) are the targets, of these fundamentalist groups.

A buddy of mine came back from cuba last year. He couldnt talk too much about the jail. But Basically he said there is no hope for these people. These people are programmed to kill westerners period. They will stop at nothing in order to do so. There were few innocent people there though. Thankfully they have been removed from the facility. However, they DID have very strong ties to militant groups it was difficult to sort out.

    I don't think I would have thrown a grenade which killed a U.S. soldier.

You had no input in where you were born, and by whom. You just popped out like this kid did.... just like we all did.

    It's called responsibility.

Exactly. Roland acts like he is the victim here. Lets not forget what he is being blamed for, and for even putting himself in a compromising situation like that.

if this is a war on terrorism, and enemy combatants are being imprisoned-shouldn't they be given the right of the Geneva convention agreement?> They are POW's. To be held without trial is a war crime.

The problem is I think that this is a much trickier situation then your standard war. I mean in a normal war you capture an enemy soldier and then when the war is over you release him and he goes back to his country and his family as the fighting is over (at the end of WW1 you didn't really have to worry about individual released German soldiers trying to invade France on their own). In this war how do you determine that the fighting is over and it is ok to release your enemy? For some of the enemy the fighting will never be over (ie if you release them they will just keep attacking).

I have thought about this a bunch of times and I am not sure how to deal with it .
