Lets' see we got on their homepage smack dab front and center:

The usual plastering of the gunboy Cho story...how long this takes the main spotlight is anyone's guess... I suppose the Nasa shooting will be another week of excruciating details after Cho mania fades away

Oh and...

- Clerk wrestles man over beer, cigarettes, cash
- Maimed dolphin getting artificial tail to swim
- Family killed on turnpike linked to drug ring
- Clinton says her wardrobe is overanalyzed
- A link about Alec Baldwin and some conflict with his daughter

all apparently much more important gripping issues

absolutely astonishing...

.
Progress is not made by everyone joining some new fad,
and reveling in it's loyalty. It's made by forming coalitions
over specific principles, goals, and policies.

  • while I completely agree, its amazing that 4 years into this war, now the second longest war in u.s. history, people seem to not talk about it. And the media for months instead of talking about how the violence and death continues, are focused on howard K stern, american idol, sanjaya, britney, etc...

But I do take issue with the Virginia Tech school shooting. I dont think focusing on the deaths of 33 people, in the largest mass shooting, certainly the largest u.s. school shooting in history.

I think this is a problem everyone has always chimed in on, whether its more people need to be locked up, or the other side says gun control or whatever.

Yet we all know, this school shooting epidemic started to hit the mainstream in the mid 90's and nothing has stopped it.

I think trying to stop this from happening in the future is paramount. And getting people to focus on this, is essential.

I agree - CNN is full of shit. My husband turns it on, and I just get pissed off - its all disaster and drama, human-interest, non-news stories, and yes, hardly anything about Iraq.

    Additionally, this story:
(Vermont senate votes to call for impeachment of Bush and Cheney)
    http://edition.cnn.com/2007/POLITICS/04/20/bush.impeachment.ap/index.html

is only listed on the INTERNATIONAL CNN page, not the US one. I usually check the International one first.

yeah....CNN the self proclaimed news hub of the world is little more than a watered down tabloid. I've been going to Al Jazeera to find out what's going on. Thanks for the article. Hmm...very interesting indeed. I think they should also impeach a bunch of media CEO's as well from the looks of things lately.

I'm getting the feeling the Fox/CNN boys are taking the long haul in Iraq approach which sounds oddly familiar for some reason... out of sight out of mind. Shame they can't do much of anything very well as far as providing information.

Yup, it's fucking disgusting and makes me want to puke and do something about it. Ed mentions something like this in St. Paul '03 when on the front page of the local paper is about cellphone spam and on p.17 is about soldiers who lost there lives.
