"The US military is drawing up plans for a “surgical strike” against an insurgent training camp inside Iran if Republican Guards continue with attempts to destabilise Iraq, western intelligence sources said last week. One source said the Americans were growing increasingly angry at the involvement of the Guards’ special-operations Quds force inside Iraq, training Shi’ite militias and smuggling weapons into the country. Progress is not made by everyone joining some new fad,
and reveling in it's loyalty. It's made by forming coalitions
over specific principles, goals, and policies.

We have supplied insurgents around the globe. now we are in a place we never should've been and someone else is doing the supplying. Time to stop this ridiculous cycle and get the fuck out of there.

That, was, AWESOME!
"Its a secret to everybody."
The key word in your post is 'If'.
Still, the U.S is engaged in an illegal occupation, somewhat like it's client state Israel. So if we're talking about right and wrong here then I think we need to go back to the drawing board.
Not sayin the shit is right or anything. But who ISNT engaged in some kind of "illegal occupation" as you like to put it? China? Tibet. Britain? Northern Ireland. France? Ok not France. They couldn't hold onto any of their illegal occupations. But they used to have a whole hell of a lot of them as did the British, the Spanish, the Portugeese, Russians, Japanese, etc, etc, etc. All in all Id say we did a hell of alot better than the rest of y'all in avoiding these illegal occupations situations. So we fucked one up? The French and British alone fucked up most of Africa and the Middle East with their "illegal occupations". Southeast Asia? French.
Can we just get a hall pass on this one? I mean we gave ya WW2 didn't we and that wasn't even about us....
Well, of course we can repeat the crimes of the past, and even celebrate todays present crimes. Then again, we can try to respect the relatively new concept of international law and try to make the world a better/safer place.
And as far as you 'giving us WW2', that's a myth that Americans like to tout around but which has no relation to the truth.
I think we have absolute confirmation you have major lapses in history. I am not even sure your nationality but I gather from your response you must be something European given the amount of denial you are in. And please do enlighten us about this new international law you speak of. Is this YOUR version of international law? Or THE version of international law? Or are they the same thing?
I didn't say that WW2 is a myth. I'm saying it's a myth that the U.S defeated Nazi Germany.
And maybe you haven't heard of the United Nations Security Council?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Public_international_law
'Public international law is sometimes called the "law of nations". It should not be confused with "private international law", which is concerned with the resolution of conflict of laws. In its most general sense, international law "consists of rules and principles of general application dealing with the conduct of states and of intergovernmental organizations and with their relations inter se, as well as with some of their relations with persons, whether natural or juridical'
Edit: Whoops! I posted a link. I wonder when Lazymoon will be on my back??
Ok let's hear this myth theory. Should be good. While will not engage you in factual debates about Israel (a no win proposition) I will shred you on World War 2. So you better be right. And NO LINKS!
thx..

O.k, well, let's look at the facts:
9 out every 10 German soldiers killed in WW2 were killed in Russia.
The German army's biggest defeats and losses occured during the battles of Moscow, Stalingrad, Kursk, and the battle for Berlin.
Casualties in each of these battles alone eclipse the entire losses of either the U.S or Britain throughout the entire war.
Russia captured Berlin.
Russia liberated Auschwitz.
The U.S only joined the war at the end of 1941 when Germany was engaged in a war on two fronts and was bogged down on the Eastern front.
You were two years too late.
It was a joint effort between the allies. The greatest single factor being the Russian effort on the Eastern Front.
So, for you to say that the U.S saved our asses doesn't hold any water with me. Sorry to burst that bubble. I know it's a very precious bubble to most Americans and British.
Obviously there's more to it than this - arguments and counter-arguments. I know that many people disagree with me, but I simply stand by the facts.
I created a thread on the subject a year or so ago. You may wanna take a look?

True. I'm thinking more on the local military commander level. If my guys are getting hit daily with roadside bombs - bombs supplied by nefarious groups basing their operations in Iran - I will do my best to find them and blow them up first. If you leave the politics out it makes perfect sense.
How about the Saudies who are funding the Sunni insurgents. Are we going to execute tactical strikes against them. Also does Iran then have the right to target us since we sponsor MEK in their terrorist activities within Iran's borders.
I think it's all about picking favorites from this point forward. Morals out the window...just bet on the shiny horse.
Which way was up originally is a question that comes to mind.
