Apologetic...reflective? what's this?

Progress is not made by everyone joining some new fad,
and reveling in it's loyalty. It's made by forming coalitions
over specific principles, goals, and policies.

I think I might even believe that he's sorry. Although, regarding fair trials....he needs one more than anyone.

Dude... it's good on ya, Mr. President. Probably the most eloquent speech he's given in a while...

    :V

But seriously, that was a good apology. Sometimes Bush acts like a competent president, and here was one of those special moments. Good job, old bean!

oops. nope, sorry. swing and a miss. but close.

If this asshole told me it was tuesday, I'd have to check the calendar to make sure he wasn't lying about it.

admit iraq was a mistake, bring the troops home, testify about something, anything! then resign.

    maybe then we'll talk
  • I was rather impressed. It did seem to look as though he felt a bit strange when saying the fair trial bit at the end.

If the guy would be more up front and honest about just a few things, despite whatever has already happened and been said, I think a lot of people (most) are extremely willing to offer forgiveness and work together to make things better.

So you deny that speech was any good?

I guess. He feigns regret far better than he does sincere

It's a nice fit. he should stick with it.

His criminal behavior has reached such dizzying heights, It's hard to reward him for so little so late.

he apologized, but then said he had been misinterpreted... how else do you interpret "bring 'em on"?

He said it was misinterpreted in some parts of the world?

He was asked about his missteps and he said Abu Ghrain? Was he saying he ordered it? He quicky dismissed the mistable with but we are still better than Saddam because we tried and convicted those responsible. Of course we know that is not even true - we convicted a very few of the little people caught on film committing the crimes - but did nothing to those responsible.

short speech filled with errors and insincerity.. Yes, it was good by Bush's standards
  • It was somewhat thin and lacking but it looked good on him.

The misinterpreted thing was I think his way of trying to clarify the sentiment but not finding the right words to do it with.

More of this trend would be nice.

After I read this I had to remind myself that we were talking about the president of the United States.

When the cheerleader starts yelling "Bring em home" people will understand.
