Progress is not made by everyone joining some new fad,
and reveling in it's loyalty. It's made by forming coalitions
over specific principles, goals, and policies.

Funny how a mildly euphoric drug, which is extremely safe (relative to cigarettes and alcohol), with significant health benefits and not addictive is labeled a Schedule 1 Narcotic by the DEA. I've never thought about the link to the pharmaceuticals industry... I have to admit while intriguing seems a little far-fetched.

What seems more likely to me is that way back when, there WERE political reasons and mis-guided health reasons to criminalize it. Now, those reasons don't exist... but who the hell is going to risk his political career in favor of legalizing a drug that most people believe is so damn evil ??? Oh yeah... my vote for prez would!!!!! (Denny Kucinich)
Everything not forbidden is compulsory and eveything not compulsory is forbidden. You are free... free to do what the government says you can do.
