America is like the stupid, fat rich kid in the neighborhood that everybody hates... but hangs around because the idiot passes out money if you pretend to be his friend.
That is our foriegn policy in a nutshell... specifically, our foriegn policy as it pertains to the Middle East.
We are funnelling millions of tax payer dollars into Pakistan beause they are 'Our allies' in the war on terror. No. They SAY they are our allies... but, since Usama has been the most popular name for baby boys in Pakistan... that makes me wonder. Remember, it wasn't all that long ago when PAKISTAN's I.S.S. (Pakistani C.I.A.) set up the Taliban and supported in Afghanistan after the Soviet debacle of the 1980s.
now, pakistan says they are our friend... and what does America do? We believe them and funnel them money and weapons. The same way that stupid, fat rich kid handed out money and candy to the other kids that hated him.Allen Fieldhouse, home of the 2008 NCAA men's Basketball Champions! Go Jayhawks!

There is really nothing unrealistic about removing one to two combat brigades per month. But the idea that George Walker Bush's "order" to get Osama will somehow get our forces to do something that they haven't been able to do in 7 years is about as unrealistic as John Sidney McCain's energy policy actually helping our dependence on oil.My whole life

Pakistan is what the U.S. government would consider "a necessary evil in the war on terror" (incidentally, they probably have a similar view on torture). They need Pakistani government/military cooperation, while knowing full well that the average Pakistani probably sympathizes more with the Taliban. To be honest, what could the U.S. and allies do over there, if indeed Pakistan was not an "ally"? It is within the best interests of U.S. to have Pakistani troops doing the fighting in Pakistan proper, for a number of reasons. Of course, the downside is that one's "allies" need weaponry and tech support ... I am not comfortable with empowering ANY military in the Middle East, to put it bluntly.0 -

But... we've recently been down the landmine laden road before.
We sided with Saddam Hussein against Iran in the 1980s... as well as allying with Usama Bin Laden against the Soviets in Afghanistan. The scary part of our alliance with Pakistan... they already have nukes and are a couple of asassinations away from being the New Taliban Homeland.

And we've got more work to do. See, that's the thing the American people have got to understand, that we've only been at this six months. This is going to be a long struggle. I keep saying that; I don't know whether you all believe me or not. But time will show you that it's going to take a long time to achieve this objective. And I can assure you, I am not going to blink. And I'm not going to get tired. Because I know what is at stake. And history has called us to action, and I am going to seize this moment for the good of the world, for peace in the world and for freedom.

The FBI still doesn't have any hard evidence linking Osama to 9/11...which is why he's not listed as being wanted for 9/11 on their home page:

Wouldn't his admission of guilt count as evidence? I suppose they have yet to prove it was actually him in that video ...0 -

Those videos are all pretty shaky. Other than the videos...there really isn't anything to justify invading two countries, and murdering a million people, other than indifferences. The alleged hijackers were mostly Saudis and some from Egypt.
Kind of a joke really. Just some suspect videos, and it's lights out no contest. That's deplorable.Progress is not made by everyone joining some new fad,

I think that even many hardcore conservatives will now concede that Iraq was never about 9-11. And what do you propose the FBI/CIA do, then? Give up the search due to a lack of evidence? The police typcially arrest suspects and bring them in for questioning with far less evidence than several videotaped confessions ...0 -

I expected them to actually look for him (at the time). I think they should just drop it now...he's a mythical unicorn used to procreate fear. Bush even went so far as to say he really wasn't concerned about finding him at one point...what a tool..
I don't think they're even trying, because he's dead, and they know it. He had advanced stage renal failure to the point he needed dialysis. He's just some figurehead used to stick a target on Afghanistan, Iraq, and now Pakistan.
Isn't it Ironic how all three surround, and directly border Iran.

You're not going to believe this, but I saw him in New York City. Osama Bin Laden was driving a cab. I saw him twice; once downtown and once in the upper west side.Signed it, grind it.

Still no signs of the guy. I havent posted in a long time, just wanted to make a note, new president, and still no signs of OBL.0

the Bin Laden "confession" tapes have about as much validity as a new nsync album"All I Ever Knew" available now in print and digital formats at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and iBooks.0

Isn't it amazing that we the US had no idea the 9/11 suspects attacked us and caught us TOTALLY unaware of this attack. Yet today to this day we STILL haven't caught up with OBL, he can STILL drop off tapes when he wants usually around election time and it does such a great job of being able to ratchet up the fear level, it's so convenient of him.
Simply amazing how that all works after all these years. I get the feeling 20 years from now we'll still never know what has happened the one and only OBL?
