If you are living your life and you’re not bothered by what’s going on
then you have some things to be thankful for
don’t you

If you are living your life and you’re hurt and angry and fearful
about what’s going on
then you have some questions that need answering
don’t you

Can so many people fall in between
these categories?
Can so many people fall for what seems
to be allegory?

If you are living paycheck to paycheck and
your son’s in the war
and somewhere down the line you have
forgotten what we’re fighting for

Well don’t feel alone
because we’re all right here
we just haven’t had time yet
to get beyond our own fears

But sooner or later we’ll all meet and then
we’ll find out that Barbie was better off with Ken
instead of G.I. Joe and his
made-up foes
his borrowed ho’s
and his many, many woes

And we’ll all realize that
John was better than Paul
and if Lennon were alive
he’d ask how we have the gall
to keep fighting a war that
should have never been fought
and actually in the end
It’s us who’ll be caught
with our pants down
and a big frown
upon our face

The human race
deserves more than this
The human face
has worked hard for this
and the human race
deserves more than this
and the human face
will not be erased
in this
