The Spin Should Stop Here

Yes, what Cho did was horrendous.
Yes, he obviously needed help and that need wasn't recognized competently enough, and the consequences were horrendous too.
Yes, the media was greedy enough to exploit the whole situation and that is horrendous too.
Yes, the President and hopeful Presidents are spinning this story as much as they can, each with their own twist, each with their own plan for a new law, and that is horrendous too.
Yes, the fact that Cho's family cannot even begin to understand yet explain how this happened, it is horrendous.
Yes, the fact that so many families are suffering right now, that is horrendous too.
So, while everyone is trying to recover from the horror, the spin should stop here.

and reveling in it's loyalty. It's made by forming coalitions
over specific principles, goals, and policies.

rip all, except the shooter, which im sure is even more lost and hurting in (if there even is) a after life.
"We are all, now, in a World, Of SHIt"
Fucking fat cops taking alot of time to infiltrate, something is terribly out of place...
Who taught that kid those military guns stances? to maximize his aim?
The snpier case awhile back had someone teaching that kid, could there be something in this case parrallel to that?
much like osama obama (kennedy 2006) you used so many words to say nothing at all.
And I try to make this kind and clear
Just a chance that maybe we'll find better days
Cuz I don't need boxes wrapped in strings
And desire and love and empty things
Just a chance that maybe we'll find better days
Much like an unenlightened person, you chose to make this political.
i agree though. yeah that kid was messed up in the head and we should leave it at that. i work in a hospital for chemical dependency patients and people with depression. a lot of people that go in go with anger problems and suicidal tendencies.. i think cho needed to go to the hospital where i work. he had some serious mental problems...
In my mind the greatest tribute and honor we can give to the 32 dead in Virginia is this:
To try our BEST to prevent this from happening again.
To listen to our kids.
To say we failed, that the perscription ritalin, the zero tolerance, the metal detectors at school, that isnt working, and we need to try something new.
We need to stop allowing these things to happen.
Thats the ultimate "no spin". Actually doing something.
O reilly is a pompous jerk and could care less if anyone was shot. He will exploit his show and book and his ego, which deserves its own show as well.
Spin in itself is such a stupid term.
Instead of spin, lets try and stop kids from killing other kids. Theres a novel idea
Thank you.
crazy happens.

thanks for the trenchant and penetrating commentary.
what did you mean by "kennedy 2006"? if you meant ted kennedy, he hasn't ran for president in over 20 years, so that doesn't make any sense. i'm not sure what 2006 meant, since obama didn't run for anything in 2006, but if you meant jack or bobby, then thanks for the comparison.
But the media doesn't have to make it crazier.
People on this board often act like I think manson is god or that I think he is a great human being. Quite the opposite is true. I dont have pictures of manson on my wall, its filled with pictures of activists and people like Lennon or Dylan or Neil Young etc...
Anyways manson is spot on in this quote, and its one of my favorite to bring up.
Essentially when I speak in other threads about how school shooting arent necessarily the work of one nutcase who snapped, but are more our society and cultures tacit acceptance and glorification of it, that quote is essentially what I am saying.
Its interesting too because it shows the inner workings of manson and that although what he did was wrong and he deserved to e punished, he certainly isnt stupid and void of insight.
A guy who inspires the Beach Boys, Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, Devendra Banhart and countless others cant be ALL bad, just partly bad. And his bad side shouldnt be overlooked.
That said, we as a society create what goes on. If we had peace and love and hippies running things I doubt people would be killing 32 kids.
Essentially what I am arguing is its wrong of everyone to blame this on one party or one politician or whatever. This killing was the result of the entire system of things.
Well said
