Wikipedia and skulls and bones

I love wikipedia and I go to it often enough for research that I should start paying them some rent.

I was pondering all sorts of issues that have come up this week: the Dems caving on the Iraq bill, the reactions to the Immigration bill, the woman who is married to an ex President Bill, and somehow ended up paying attention to Bush today, simply because a sparrow happened to shit on his arm in the Rose Garden. I couldn't help but wonder whether the bird's name was Bill. But I digress.

I gave the bird a "right on!" and then went on to ponder the connection between Dad-then-Bill-then-Son-then-Hill (!?!) and realized that the one of the only differences is that Dad and Son were Skull and Bones boys. Hill & Bill just have Whitewater.

So I went into my beloved wikipedia and looked up S&B and found out that Dad and Son are two of three presidents who were/are S&B. Taft being the third.

So I hit the link to Taft and found out that he was pretty much a peacenik who only had wanted to be Attorney General.

Go figure.

So I jump out of the Taft link and back into the S&B explanation, and all I can say is I learned nothing after that, except what I already knew. George Burns was a S&B too.

Can anyone explain in simply Bu-like layman terms what the Skull & Bones Society is really about, and whether or not it has anything to do with Dad and Son? Keep in mind, I'm somewhat sedated, right now, with beer and a legal amount of leftover resin in a legal pipe, and I need easy language that will teach me something...and yet make me think even more. Something that No Child Left Behind would be unfamiliar with.

    on the ramparts, being "secretly" videotaped, was a front for whatever was really going on inside the "Tomb".

    Then again, I would like to think that I still have some basic freedoms left, and that my blogging and cell phone calls do too.

    So, I guess what you're all telling me is that no one knows what the Skull and Bones Society really does, or means, or...has an influence on.

    Apparently 15 underclassmen are tapped in each year. According to that nice looking young lady from Yale you saw in the video (and who was a member), the sole purpose of Skull and Bones is to elevate their members into positions of power thus empowering the society as a whole.
