I don't know what's more of a shocker....the story itself, or the picture of Bush drinking what looks to be beer.

I right-clicked the picture, selected "Save File As..." and the picture had the name Bush_with_beer.jpg.

I thought he was a dry alcoholic.

  • If I had the blood of a few thousand on my hands, I'd probably need something to drink too. Maybe a little nose candy would help also.

shouldn't we all be a little bit concerned about a "recovered, dry" alcoholic drinking in the White House?

Do you really want someone like me in charge?!?

Shit man. After all this shit we been through, I don't think anything can be done to call attention to the mishappening of the current presidency. Me and you, we're in this for the whole fucking ride.

enough to impeach him yet. (The fact that he and Cheney and Rove and Gonzalez have been actively raping our Constitution and Habeus Corpus and privacy and the Justice Department and a CIA operative's cover, so far mean nothing, and haven't been enough to impeach him yet).

But if Bush is drinking again, that's a whole new cupcake. Reagan wasn't diagnosed with Alzheimer's until well after his presidency, but let's imagine for a moment that the disease had hit him far earlier, while he was President. His judgment would've been impaired and he would've had to step down, plain and simple.

    Drinking impairs judgment too.

Okay, so what if it's only "near beer". Sorry, but, a recovering alcoholic drinking near beer is an accident waiting to happen. A recovering alcoholic drinking near beer while President of the US is a security risk.

But, he said he gave it up for good about 10 years ago. I knew that was BS.

only adds to the equation, because if he is indeed drinking again, who's to say what else he's doing?

I'm all for privacy in recreational "habits", but 1) this is the President we're talking about, not you or me -- we don't have access to any red buttons and we don't have any control over our nation's policies and military, and 2) he has no problem invading OUR privacy, and 3) if we can't get him on a cover-up over a blow job a la Clinton, can we at least have him investigated over his drinking?

What sounds to you guys like a "beer or two" could become the next Beergate.

    *pause*

Then again, if he is discovered to be PUI (President Under the Influence), that would only mean Cheney becomes President instead.

    Hmmm...

    *blink*

    Never mind.

    Beer is harmless, after all.

    So what?

I hate the fucker but if the guy wants to have a beer from time to time what difference does it make?
I mean, he's the worst rated president of alltime, he's lead us into a regional disaster, he's pretty much worthless on all other counts...

If anyone needs a drink, it's probably him.

In fact, I think he should start smoking joints. At least he may see things a bit differently...

I think the primary equation in this has to do with what is still happening in the drug war, and the convictions against those who would not have been convicted had they been born on third.

he would probably be less inclined to use violence as foreign policy

It could be non-alcoholic beer. Which I don't get, because beer tastes like liquid copper.
I necessarily have the passion for writing this, and you have the passion for condemning me; both of us are equally fools, equally the toys of destiny. Your nature is to do harm, mine is to love truth, and to make it public in spite of you. - Voltaire
