One more hack theory to scratch off the board... Hopefully by the time the sceptics are quieted it won't be too late.

The skeptics have air-conditioning and gas heaters. The price of oil is going need to get a lot higher for the deniers to start listeningI hate quotations. Tell me what you know.

Why those 2 places specifically?
Right now, I don't think most people have a clue to what effect it is having on them. If you live in any one location, you might even be experiencing colder than average temps. That makes it easy for the average joe to write global warming of as bs.Obama/Biden '08!!!0 -

heat travels up so if you live in those major cities with the high rises and that temp gets to 119 (WHICH IT WILL) you wont make it out0 -
The 4 car wide roads in subdivisions which surround the city adds even more heat. Here in the Denver metro where trees are almost non existent in some places subdivisions built in the last 25 years and great in others subdivisions older then 25 years. The temps from location to location can be quite dramatic in summer. Sometimes over 5 degrees higher just a few miles away.
I live in a 20 year old house and I am but one out of about 100 homes in my sub that has more then one tree. I have about 20 (8 large ones.) Most of the homes have ZERO large trees only small ornamental ones or trees which provide almost no shade. You can walk on a hot day from my yard to any of the others and the temps changes are huge. Of course most of those other homes have the air-conditioners running full tilt.
I will see if I have a good photo of my neighbor hood from my yard and post it on the art wall. It is a good look at one of the many wrong things about subdivisions through out the US not just Denver.I hate quotations. Tell me what you know.

I thought the environmentally friendly way to live was in high density housing. What is an eco-crusader doing living in a single family home?“One good thing about music,
when it hits you, you feel to pain.
So brutalize me with music.”

My home is quite small and very affordable. Has a nice size back yard to grow my garden (spring salads only a week or two away
) and my home is not far from work or any of the things I need. Library, groceries, recreation and wines shop all with in walking/biking distance.
High density housing in all the big cities is far more expensive then where I live. Though with rising fuel I will be moving to a more suitable location then where I live now.
I live more in the serfs area of my neighborhood. Many McMansions have cropped up in the last five years here.I hate quotations. Tell me what you know.

Single family housing is unsustainable. Using the cost versus of high density housing versus an unsustainable practice is not much justification.
Like you I try to be eco-sensitive but I refuse to feel guilty where I make decisions based on comfort or cost over thenvironment. And I wish my wine shop wasa within staggering ditance of home.“One good thing about music,
